Yeah, if you're going to ask them to change it, you need to have another color in mind. Take the advice above. If you decide to change it down the road, you need to drive around looking at houses and deciding what colors appeal to you. You also need to do lots of research on potential colors that make you happy. Then buy sample pots and test them out on the siding in different areas/lights to make sure you like the color overall. Then you hire painters and tell them what color you have selected.

I think something in the same color as the stone trim around the garage would work well.

Agree that the photo doesn't show the whole facade well enough at the moment. It would be great to see the whole house front. Also agree that shutters don't belong anywhere on the house at all. Consider also taking out the barricade of bushes along your walkway and redesigning the walkway and the landscaping so it is more open and welcoming.
