White Crown Molding with Oak Cabinets???
Comments (6)Crown moulding around the ceiling can always be considered part of the ceiling rather than part of the wall. Its just a different way of looking at it. I have even seen wood paneled rooms with white crown: not the way it is usually done, but it looked fine. It just read as "ceiling" detail, not as "wall" detail....See MoreKitchen Cabinet Crown Molding Color vs the rest of the house
Comments (4)Why would you use the same cabinet crown shade throughout the house. That makes no sense. Your cabinets and crown are a separate feature unless they run right into your ceiling crown?...See MoreOak cabinet color redo? Galley style kitchen
Comments (15)Yes, the counters are a bit green toned, didn’t look like that in the big box store at time under their store lights. Yes, I need help with the table and hutch in my other post. Thought about just buying new set, but wanted to give this set an update which I see people do all over instagram but to be honest I don’t know if I did a very good job. Maybe needs to be more something... haha idk! Definitely needs maybe a dark table top possibly or also painted white and I feel hutch needs painted also to either coordinate somehow or a different pop of color. I have been chalk painting them. Will definitly take rug out from under table, since someone said too small. And I am softly looking for new lighting for kitchen and dining that matches. These are dated and I do not like them. I don’t know why they placed two in dining area like that. The windows definitely need some new treatments, I thought the woven shades look nice but I wouldn’t mind a nice curtain on sliding glass door.. The curtains I have are tie up shades, I currently tie them up or leave them down like curtains show in pics. The kitchen-dining used to be a wine red just lightened it up with a cream paint. Was suppose to be it’s primer and then onto maybe a greige color. But I am kinda sick of painting so leaving that as is for now. It definitely brightened the space....See MoreWall colors for a dated kitchen with oak cabinets
Comments (78)Laura H, something is going on with Houzz. I posted that post 4 days ago, but it never appeared. My keyboard will not let me hold down the delete key to delete more than one letter at a time. Sometimes, the first letter of a sentence will not appear. Then I cannot add the first letter and I cannot delete the word by highlighting and deleting. The only way to get rid of it is to either back out of the page or highlight the word and press ctrl X. Then it goes away. This only happens on Houzz. I think I will start a post about it. One other person is having the same problem. I like the original color of your paint (at least on my monitor). I may paint my house that color next time we paint. I think you should spend as little money on your kitchen as possible and fix other things. Old houses have hidden problems like electrical. I bet you are happy all the electrical is done. We had to also put two new furnaces/ac in. $12k. Ouch! If you do decide to do the kitchen floor, it will be a one time fix, unlike paint. I wonder if the square tiles go under your cabinets though. I am in the same boat. We are not planning on removing the bathroom marble floor tile, but we are getting new cabinets. We don't know if the tile goes under the cabinets or not. I hope so. I can't wait to see other pics of your 1908 house! A lot of work, but a lot of fun! We almost bought a house dated 1901 with curved glass windows, but decided against it when we found that the basement entrance (trap door) was in the center of the kitchen floor. Weird! Post some pics as you start working on other rooms, please....See MoreAmy Lynn
