Linen White cabinets, trouble with wall color
Hi, all. Previous homeowner painted kitchen cabinets and family room built ins (open concept floorplan) in Linen White, while leaving the chair rail, crown and window blinds all in Super White. She had Palladian Blue on the walls, which we replaced with Repose Gray. We are regretting the Repose, and are now looking for a new neutral for our south facing living room and kitchen walls (Raleigh, NC). I tried the 50/50 decorator mix of Linen White and Decorators White, but it is too white against the cabinets and makes the Simply White trim look dirty. Considering BM Bone White or SW Revere Pewter. Anybody have any luck with Linen White and its notorious yellow undertones? I don't really want to spend the money to repaint all these cabinets, but...

Comments (10)If you are down to just two colors it would be a good idea to buy a sample (even if that means a quart) and paint a good size area of each in the space you plan to use it. I find it helpful when I paint an edge to touch. Check on the colors throughout the course of several days, hopefully with differing amounts of sun. Don't forget to see how they look at night too. I was between two different BM whites and this process made it clear that one read too yellow in my space for my taste. Who knows, maybe this is why so many shades of white are available? Either that or they just have a lot of great names they want to use! I find subtle differences hard to read well on a computer screen. Comments (13)The linen white walls were just painted and the trim, doors, etc are almost exactly the same color. The house has very little natural light and it all looks very drab - needs contrast. Its my MIL's new home and its a very traditional style with dark floors. Im losing sleep over this haha....See Morewall color with linen white trim

Bone White will make Linen White appear that little bit more neutral as it has more Chroma or colourfulness than Linen White.
The only thing is, that if you didn’t enjoy Linen White walls in the first place and swapped them out, will you like this stronger version more?
Unless you are really happy with the Linen White cabinetry, I would hesitate to add more of that kind of colour to the space?cervenat thanked Marylee Hcervenat
