Under the cabinet TV: which ones are good?
Comments (4)LCD's do have somewhat of a limited viewing angle compared to a tube TV, but it's still a pretty wide viewing angle and the newer generation TV's are much better than the older ones. I just replaced a 9" second generation Sharp LCD which you could only see from one angle if you were sitting at the kitchen table with a 17" Toshiba hi-def TV which is absolutely amazing no matter where you are in the kitchen. As to your undermount question, yes there are mounts that have a swivel function....See Moregood TV shows available on Amazon
Comments (36)I don't watch much tv-- but bf and I follow at least one show a season so we can watch "together" while he is still a number of states away. Here are some we've enjoyed this way-- or binge watching when together. OH.. and we are similar.. dramas or GOOD comedies. Dexter Homeland Detroit 187 The Killing Orange is the New Black (netflix only) Sherlock (BBC) Downton Abbey (he likes it too) West Wing Homicide Prime Suspect (BBC) Pushing Daisies Scandal (this one is just mine-- but it started jumping the shark last season) Parenthood A few oldies but goodies.. Northern Exposure Homicide Six Feet Under Any BBC show with Robson Green...See MoreFeel-good tv shows?
Comments (37)Very few of the shows listed on here are what I would call feel good shows! My husband watches a lot of regular television re runs, all the westerns, but I do not have time to watch. I almost never watch television in the day. I do like a few in the evening and night, some cooking shows, As Time Goes By, A Place To Call Home, and would watch others from BBC if they were on here. You would think I would like to watch more television because as a child in or around 1948 we were the first to have television out in the country, had no inside bathroom but we had a television. My Dad started repairing them and then he started selling them. He used to repair radios in days of old. I would much rather read or color or embroider instead of watching television, now if something catches my eye, I would watch it. Comments (3)Commercial freezers freeze instantly. It may be that home freezing causes your sauce to break with the different molecules freezing at different rates. This is especially true when there's a goodly fat content as well as a watery component (think about keeping salad dressing emulsified). Flour based gravies are supposed to freeze pretty well, though I've only done it a couple of times and can't swear by it. My best recommendation would be to freeze the meat separately from the gravy. If you have large mushroom slices, make sure they're cooked down first, both for the freezing, and for the flavor. Saute them with the onions, wine and other flavors until they start releasing their water, cover for 5-10 minutes so they get really limp and have released almost all of their water, then uncover and steam off all the water, inc. whatever else is released. At that point, the mushrooms should be really delicious and a small fraction of their original volume, and ready to make the gravy. They should freeze fairly well at that point, and be tasty. Good luck....See More
