Which direction should I lay the floor?
Comments (14)Oops, sorry - I should have mentioned that we have a slab foundation. Here's the link: www.truehardwoods.com If you call and talk to Justin (it's a family-owned and run business), tell him hello from the customer that bought 70 cartons of Castle Rock Birch shipped to Texas! We're installing it ourselves, so we decided to do floating. He recommended we use the Silencer underlayment....See MoreWhich direction should wood floors planks run
Comments (8)I would go the long way with the hallway and continuous throughout. Having a hallway with the floor the wrong way just looks plain odd. If there is a separate room that is not continuous with that floor, then go the long way with that room. Example, a connecting breezeway with stairs to enter house is longer west to east, but inside the house there is a hallway and room that are longer north to south. You want to go long with the space however it applies. Also the direction you lay LVP does not affect structure, you need a solid base for it anyhow....See MoreWhich direction should I run wood plank porcelain tiles?
Comments (0)I’m installing wood plank porcelain tiles 6x24. Which direction should I run the tiles? Should I run it vertical or horizontal as soon as I walk in from the main entry way? Right now I’m thinking of running it Vertical longways from front to back. I shot a video of the house, the floor is bare right now. https://youtu.be/oRStitu8zJ8 There’s a house, exactly the same model nearby that i saw online and they had their wood look tiles running horizontally. I’ll attach pictures. Main entry away Main living room formal dining area or living room 2 Guest bathroom Laundry area kitchen master bath...See MoreWhich direction should I lay my LVP flooring?
Comments (6)I disagree I would do the long run infront of you when you enter but the best is too find out how the beams run and do perpendicular to thta to make the fake wood look more real. Please do not put the TV above the FP you have space on the left use a nice cabinet withTV wall mounted on an articulating are above the cabinet .That puts the TV at proper viewing height then a nic ematch cabine on the other side of the FP with a nice piecce of art above to balance the TV then you can either hang more art , just add a nice thick wood mantel and decorate only the mantel...See Moretjprentiss
