My opinion is you have a strong accent wall in the stone fireplace wall. Paint the stone, the hearth and the t v cabinet black.

(I like it with the fan.)

As for a color for the other three walls and ceiling, consider B.M. Chantilly Lace.

I considered this, but the wall is massive and I think I just won’t like all the black. What above the urbane bronze paint color adjacent to stone fireplace wall opposite the window wall. Then all other walls white. Change furniture to browns with orange tones

The stone and the walnut feature wall are working. The blue walls don't work in this space and if the floor can't be changed its effect can be diminished with an area rug.

The drapery panels work in the room but IMO the room would be a better composition with much more subtle choices on your part.

I'm in agreement with Beverly-the stone wall w/walnut works well, and since it's earthy color-I'd go with more subltle, not bright pure color for the paint, but shades that are complex and more "muddy".

For example I really love the color you have right now-if you want a change you obviously can find a different color, but I wouldn't use anything too clear and bright. Blue walls don't work right now, (I know you're repainting) and one of the reasons, imo-the color is too "clear" a blue.

Since the fireplace stays as is-any "big surface" color should work with it.

I wouldn't do an accent wall at all, but if yes-I'd look for a softer version of a dark color. If you like Urbane Bronze, which seems softer black to me-I'd make a big sample on a paper and try to look at it in your light, next to the fireplace, in the middle of the wall, etc. Actually I'd do several samples with all the colors you might consider, whether accent or not.

I love white and black myself, so I'd use them in accents and art, you'd still get your preferred colors, without contradicting that stone too much.

I like the idea of walnut desk area across the fireplace wall.

Of course you can get furniture in cognac or chocolate color, actually many upholstery colors would work.

Don't paint the stone, which adds texture to the room. Instead, spend some time with the furniture choices. (I actually like your animal skin chairs--quirky and would look much better against neutral, warm white walls.) Remember to take into account your warm, wood floors and the wood surrounding the TV built-ins. The paint has to go with the floors and the fireplace. Why do you have two huge clocks in a place of relaxation? Instead start looking art works that fit in with the stone and wood finishes--maybe impressionistic or abstract landscapes? Then choose your furnishings after that. This palette, plus the bold lines, would work with your fireplace--grays, tans, a little gold.

--Paint the entire room a warm white that goes with your fireplace and floors. I like Beverly's choices of neutral cream furniture against the neutral cream walls. You could get a neutral cream/tan sofa, keep the two chairs. The stone fireplace in Beverly's bottom photo really looks beautiful. Notice how the wall color is a shade from the stone. Choose the warmest neutral white from your stone for your walls.

--You could consider an oversized horizontal mirror--something with character from estate sale, Craigslist, antique shop--for the big wall. (Retail: Ballard has great mirrors.) This would reflect all the light coming in from the window. Have your desk slab be in the same wood as floor and TV unit trim.

--Float your eventual sofa to face the fireplace. Be very careful about dimensions since you have a narrow room. Don't get anything with too high a back since you'll be floating it and you want good sight lines to the fireplace.

--Get a lightly patterned rug that will work with the animal skin chairs, and art work, fireplace, this palette. Sofa can be one of the colors from the palette.

Keep the fireplace wall like it is. No accent wall anywhere else. All the other walls, the same color. The fireplace wall is your accent wall. Thats all you need. Having the other one also an accent wall, takes away from the room.

I agree that the stone wall is fine. If you can, I would mount the Roman blinds over the top of the window so none of the window is hidden when the blinds are pulled up and get rid of the drapery and rods. It is a more modern look.

Love the stone wall and the flooring. The dark blue wall doesn't relate to anything. If you like blue bring it in in smaller doses and spread it around the room.

I have a cow print chair, dark leather chair with ottoman (thinking I should get rid of a d buy lighter). Where would I place a sofa in the room? I’m a very visual person so if edits could be made to the photos I provided it would help me a ton. Any paint suggestions for the warm white or tan walls in the entire room?!

Here is a layout that will work for you if you would like to consider a sectional for the room. You can place additional seating in front of the window.

This layout would separate the conversation/TV watching area from the desk you want to put against the back wall. Make sure you measure, measure, measure when you purchase a sofa. I'm not sure you have room for what you want to do because you haven't given measurements or a good photo of the entry into the room.

Get Benjamin Moore's Off White Collection paint deck to put up against your fireplace and flooring. in these photos, the color is BM Silver Satin. The neutral you use shoiuld be the lightest shade pulled from the stone. Test out samples on large posterboard and try out different paints under day and nighttime conditions. It looks as if you recently moved in. If you have the budget, hire a color consultant to help you choose your paint colors for the house and the sofa color that works with your current "givens," the stone wall and your wood floor and trim and with adjoining spaces. It's money well spent.

Benjamin Moore's Gentle Cream might be a beautiful choice for your living room or a nearby color on the paint chip deck since your stone has some gold and the floors have a warm color.

I would just leave the fireplace alone and paint the rest white....not a muddy color but a slightly warm white like SW Alabaster (one of Joanna Gaines fav) or classic gray BM (I’m currently looking at that one too) black seems kinda harsh and takes away light. But in the end it’s up to you. You can also ask sherwin Williams color specialists for free (online) for 30 mins. You can do video/text/call with them. I just found about it today after not getting answers to my paint questions on here. Idk what I did wrong to get zero answers twice lol but I guess it’s good because I found out about them. It does take 2 to 3 days for them to email you back though.

The furniture layout that Beverly posted above has led me to a couple questions. My room is a bit different shaped as in the wall in which she drew the sectional is farther back and I plan on putting built-in desk in that area. The chairs in front of the windowWill completely block the side of the television. Would an open bench be better where the two chairs are and then the sectional would have to be moved forward. It is hard to arrange furniture in this room because the TV and fireplace are asymmetrical
