Sounds impressive-looking! Burying the stems will simply cause them to rot. You can either stake the tall stems (put a stake in the pot and use twist ties/plant ties or string to gently tie the stem to the stake, making the stem upright) or cut off that tall foliage and allow the corms/tubers to sprout new growth. Hope your friend doesn't 'hurt you' too badly if you cut the foliage! (Ã)

ken, it was a mothers day gift, have to help it if I can. What happened was a huge spruce fell on it and bent it in spring. It didnt crack but lost its top and some branches. It looked healthy all year despite its crew cut! Surprisingly it ended up with 7 bunches of berries, 3 more than last yr. BUT I have noticed that the berries are falling off, thats not normal. I went to check it and when I leaned my hand on it I noticed it wiggles. Now Im really concerned that some root damage happened and it wont survive the winter. I dont know what to do so Im looking for advice.

Yeah, well, we have LOTS of opinions about EVERYTHING here, LOL. And if we don't know, we LOVE looking stuff up. I found this on a page about fireplace screens: "If you are seeking a 3, four, or five screen panel you will require a screen that is wide enough to allow for a fold in the screen so that it can't fall down. Simply add ten to twelve inches to the the measurement of the fireplace opening and that is the measurement (or layflat dimension) of the fireplace screen that you should should have. If the opening of your fireplace is 36 inches, your functional fireplace covering should be at least 46". To furnish proper spark protection, your fireplace screen should measure to the top of your fireplace opening or overlap it." Below is the source page for this quote: Here is a link that might be useful: fireplace screen

Hello , We are on our way to revitalizing this site . Thanks to Hublu we even have international interest. I looked at your cotlydon Hublu.. I think this is the most sublimely beautiful flower . The last time You showed it on the Us forum I made a copy for my personal collection. What is its full name , do you have a shot of the full plant... i would love to see it deejaus "I have a nice little ponytail palm.. have found myself getting more interested in them... " Me too I Foud them rather expensive to buy . but on Ebay I discovered that people were almost giving them away in nsw and qld. the problem was collection ... and I'm talking very large plants which I would have thought would sell in vic for $$600 to 1,200. I found the largest listed under pony tails ... yes right among womens pony tail accessories. If I had a van nd the time I would have got the lot . Try looking for "nolinas" the new and correct name or "beaucaria recurvota". And plannt yours in the ground not in a pot ... they are like gold fish they grow to the size the pond will support. Whats with the Baldy ... julie ? Baldric
