Chickadee, that is exactly my mirror! You are an amazing sleuth and I’m so happy to know the name behind it. I bought mine in Malvern from King Street Antiques. Its a one-woman show and it’s been around for about 25 years. Thankfully I paid much less than what Bucks County Traders is asking!

Always loved LaBarge mirrors. I used to have a LaB coffee table. Embarrassed to say it involved brass, glass and er... swans. You can see why it not in this house.

I highly highly recommend one of these toile cachepots - for $27 each. I have a lime one and It just sets off flowers so nicely! They are simple, timeless, classic, can be used anywhere. I put my flowers in jars as a liner when I use these.

I was writing in my DTM post how I had stolen my cachepot (which I bought at a florist years ago) from my family room to put on my mantle. I got to thinking i'd like two anyway, and was surprised to find what seems to be the same item so quickly and cheaply.

I don't know if I gave a pic, but I think my swan coffee table was a bit fancier (can it be?). I think the brass band that supports the glass had some sort of detailing on it. It was very glam, bien sur.

okay, I didn't want to wait and chance loosing them, so I said yes to the urns a couple of hours ago. And venmoed a deposit to the seller. The price was good; $50 each. And I like them a lot anyways. But, Mtn, those cache pots are gorgeous. Trying to figure out where to put them elsewhere in my house. I think I will need something low and long, like a (not) lucite box to do low flowers? Thoughts?

I have an ikebana vase. I use a pin frog in it for a branch or three or individual flowers. .Long and low. Did not pay what this Etsy seller is asking. Bought it in a shop that sold all sorts of Asian things.

Ugh. The urns did not spark joy. At least not on the mantel. They were to dark, too shiny, too hard (?). I hate that I spent money and they don't work, (and can't be returned,) but I hate even more trying to live with a mistake. So I looked around my house and decided to put these floral-ish topiaries there instead. I am pleasantly surprised! I think they work. I think muted colors and softer angles are what is needed here. Yes, the topiaries have seen better days, but I'm just going to go with "vintage" in their defense.

As for those urns? I've moved them to the dining room for now. They kinda, sorta work if for no other reason than my mistake chandelier is the same color and now looks less bad then before (see my note above about hating to live with a mistake.) And yes, that bowl is crying out for soft white flowers for color and a little bit of a mounded height.

Hey, your mistakes are better than most people's intentions. I think the topiaries work very nicely! The unrs work well in their new home, too.

Agree with Mtn.. i really like the topiaries and they'd be easy to replace in spring with live topiaries if you were wanting something a bit greener/fresher as the seasons transition.

Dang, that's too bad the urns didn't work on the mantel but they do look good on your sideboard. The topiaries are a great idea! And again, that mirror is simply stunning.

Long and low-look at ikebana vases/containers. I have one similar to this and I use a pin frog in it for one branch up to three branches or individual flowers.

ETA: seeing the topiaries, you could even use two low, round ikebana vases with one or more branches/flowers in them if you want something a little looser at any point.
