Help With Fireplace Wall in Family Room

We're removing the brick and plan to use tile (because we do that work) to cover the fireplace. Our plan is to extend the tile with a ledge across the entire wall (15'). We need help with the tile selection.

Here are the considerations:

  • The area doesn't get much light (natural or otherwise).
  • The room is opened up to the kitchen and separate eating area. The fireplace really needs to speak to the colors (lower cabinets) in order to look cohesive.
  • Kitchen lowers are BM Tempest (sort of a greyed out purple, a bit smokey), uppers are a creamy white, counter is marble looking quartz, and fixtures are brushed gold. These colors are more subtle than we usually like.
  • Our furnishings are quite colorful with blue, yellow and red/orange tones.
  • I can not take any more gray, especially in the cool tones or cement looking.

We've brought home dozens of tile samples but can't find the right one.

Please help!
