Good, I'm glad you all seem to concur with my conclusion. I'd hate to give up precious counter space for another smaller sink. Seems like it wouldn't work in my kitchen. I do not like the setup of my frig/oven wall. I will have to work on that when we get to that point!

Ok.. I know I have a lot of things going on in each photo.. so from what I think everyone is saying is: 1)Yes on the prep sink in island/across from fridge (ie option 2) 2)Yes on moving the main sink to the window (ie. option 2) 3)Move MW from above range (option 3) This is the tougher one for us... but let me make sure I understand your recommendation here. So it would just be a vent over the range without uppers? Or can you put the uppers to left and right? Or just uppers above refrig. to frame that out (it is cabinet depth). We are pretty limited on moving the fridge .. the table to the right of it is large, but may be able to come up with a spot for the MW with some more thinking... we weren't really crazy about the hood option as it seems expensive (ie. hood purchase, loss of storage from moving mw and loss of uppers). Is it the open look that everyone likes? Taking the uppers out does give a little flexibilty moving things a few inches- it was lining the 2 15" uppers with the window/range/fridge that kept the fridge and oven so close....

Silver always looks good with Carrara, but I really dislike ss sinks. Have you considered silgranit? Blanco's metallic gray sink is a beauty. From a distance I thought it was a nicer ss sink but without the ss water marks. It sparkles just a bit, but isn't gaudy. It looks great with Carrara, especially if it has any charcoal veining. In fact, I'm using the metallic gray for my cleanup sink with honed Carrara. If I put the Carrara on my island too, I'll do the metallic gray for my prep sink also.

Since fridge and sink are 15' apart, on opposite sides of an island, a prep sink on the island would greatly improve the function. ETA, prep path, no prep sink: Prep path with prep sink:
