Comments (16)Thank you, Sweet Carol. The dry-out people just left, leaving behind 10 big fans that are nearly as big as refrigerators that have heaters to dry the walls and floors and they treated the house for mildew. Every sink has a hose in it for water that they suction out of the walls and floor so it's hard to get a bath, dress or brush your teeth. Since these fans will have to run 24 hours per day for at least 5 days,I think we are going to check into a motel once I find the cat. He has hidden out and the dog will not come in, so we are going to do it for our ears and animals (and sanity). Keep your fingers crossed for me. The last time the cat stayed in a motel we had to buy a bed. It got into the platform and tried to claw its way out. :-)...See MoreYesterday tornados and today....
Comments (9)The palms...ah the palms...George is an MD...lots of money...he paid HUGE sums to have them brought to his house and planted. They love it there. Winter, heat, drought...they just always look good. Pics last year showed them with snow too, always looks good. I think they are afraid to look bad :) I do not run up hills...only down them LOL. I did go out again on my bike and shopped for wine and cheese. The snow started again and I had a fun 6 miles in essentially blizzard- like conditions ( sounds good doesn't it !!) . Anyway it was COLD and my face was stinging. This AM is was windy and cold and some ice on the streets but not too much. I biked to the Food Bank to work and when I got done at noon it was cold but very sunny out. We are going to have 73 on Friday. Back to Spring. And YES we get snow in Alabama...almost every year. Just not usually this much here. Lots more up North. c Thanks for looking, the revised show has my sunset pics included. Take a look....See MorePossible tornado downtown Atlanta
Comments (7)I was watching the SEC tournament, with Mississippi State playing Alabama, in the Georgia Dome. The building started to shake, catwalks and other structures high up in the dome began to sway, debris fell onto the court, insulation floated around. Most people stayed where they were, some left their area. Game stopped, with 2 minutes left, players went to locker rooms, everyone scurried! Great camera work! The game was delayed about an hour, then finished up. The second game was postponed. No one inside the dome was injured. People were told to stay in the dome, which was safer than the streets. CNN building was damaged, OMNI hotel damaged, lots of info on CNN. Very scary....See MoreA fuuny post today listed Alabama's 12 seasons...Pretty Accurate
Comments (7)How funny. A gardening friend and I were discussing Oklahoma weather, and we talked about how many days we get that are (A) in the 70's (B) without rain/hail/floods/tornadoes (D) without 30mph winds on a calm day (D) without Mosquitoes manufactured by Boeing. Our answer was we probably don't get more then 10 good days of paradise gardening in a year. AND yet we all persist........Maryl...See More
