I would actually make the fireplace smaller than advised above, and smaller than the blue tape on wall in the picture. First, it's not a huge wall, and the ceiling looks to be right around 8 ft. or 8'8" at the most on that wall. Putting a fireplace surround all the way up to the ceiling is going to bring the ceiling down visually, and whatever material is used will look too heavy for the size. Something modern and uncomplicated , like a drywall bump out with the firebox recessed and flat slate or something around it? I wouldn't do elaborate moldings or a wooden mantel as that would draw attention to the lack of molding in the rest of the room. From the picture, the placement looks problematic. Most people want to use the fireplace as a focal point and arrange seating around it. The space chosen looks like it is a walk through from another room, and if so it couldn't be blocked by any furniture. Unless it is the space currently occupied by the tv? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Congrats on your pretty lake house! We used to have a cute one and I loved it, but the very long and frequent drive to enjoy it became tough. Anyway, I think lake houses call for as minimal window treatments as possible. Drapes on those windows in that style house just don't seem right. Instead, I'd consider less formal and more "lake-ish" café curtains mounted at the halfway mark under the six-light uppers if that would provide the privacy you're looking for when the curtains are closed. I'd put a Roman shade on the kitchen window.

I love it the way it is. Please no paint on those beautiful logs. No solid color stains that look just like paint either. Oil based semi transparent stains, would be the only thing I would ever use on those logs. If anything, I would restain the decks and railings a bit darker.

If you are staying with green, it may help to go more brown. I am painting my house in the woods with a solid stain. I wanted green so it would blend into the woods. I bought a color which looked green in the store, but was very blue on my house. I called the manufacturer color consultant and she recommended a different green that looked very brown in the brochure. But it’s not brown. Depending on lighting, it can be olive, gray, sage or something close to your ben moore color. It’s a GREAT color for the woods. The color is Cabot Stain solid sagebrush if you want to try to match it. But don’t use the brochure, because that color is inaccurate. (You might have to buy a pint if you can get it and paint your own sample, or just guess.) HOWEVER, white trim, or anything close to white, does not look good in my woods environment. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I will be toning down the white and cream colors with SW Perfect Greige. I think it has an LRV of 50-something. My trim color is a deep dark brown. The combination of the green and dark brown is successful at making the house DISAPPEAR. If that is not what you want, don’t go with the darker green without highlights. Alternatively, if you are painting, there are green colors that look like khaki beige in some light and organic green or gray in other light. Those with a complimentary yellow-toned cream trim color might be nice. One of the reasons I chose the darker green for the woods was because I detest light-colored stain on wood siding, solid or not. If you choose another color and your house does not have a lot of cleared area around it, google ”x house in the woods” with x being a color family you are considering, view images, and see if you like how the color looks. That is how I was sure I didn’t want to paint the house white (even though paint wasn’t a good option for me anyway). This is the inspiration pic for my house. It might give you some ideas. One more thing: The gutter color I picked is called ”teratone”. It is more neutral than the green. It is a color used on metal windows and doors.
