I’m moving from NJ to DE in winter. How do I take perennials with me?

I have always taken my perennials with me when I move, but this time I’m moving in February! What’s the best way to handle the plants?

My plants are mostly irises, Japanese Irises, daffodils and day lilies. I also have some lily of the valley and vinca. These have all been in my family for decades (moved often) or gifted to me, so I really want to keep these rather than start over.

And... before I knew I was moving, I planted a lot of butterfly weed seeds. Is it possible to dig up the soil they’re planted in, place it in a new location and have the plants come up in springtime?
