Flower List for 2021

I think I just lost this post. It included Dawn's 2019 Grow List. Okay, I'll try again. I'll have to pick something out to plant in her memory, although I already have some--the two most notable are verbena bonariensis and Laura Bush petunas.

I have many, if not most of what she has, and will be working to tear a lot of those out this year, so I can replace them with natives. Daylilies and 4 o'clocks will be gone--if I can manage it.

No vinca, crinum lilies, hibiscus, datura, hollyhocks, or salvia. I have a huge patch of cannas I'd love to gift someone. They don't get enough sun here, so don't bloom.

Where in Florida are you located? I am in Palm Beach County.... your list of roses sounds good. Are they own root or on fortuniana root stock. Do you belong to one of the local rose societies.... I belong to the Greater Palm Beach Rose Society. We meet from September to June at the Mounts Botanical Garden.... hopefully you can attend if you are close. Out of the ones that you listed I have Pink Peace.... it is in a pot because it is on Dr. Huey. I would love to get it on fort.... it smells divine Spirit of Freedom I have had this rose from a tiny little thing for two years.... It is really coming in to its own... Beautiful blooms that smell wonderful.... It changes colors on me.... sometimes light pink and sometimes lilac.... I ABSOLUTELY love this rose. Lady Emma Hamilton - This rose also does great for me.... you are right that the DA's take more water. I have a place that in my yard that it floods.... and when we get the EXTREME high tides I know the water table comes up under them.... I have lost HT's over there... and only one DA.... I lost the Dark Lady, but it had not been planted for very long so it was not very established. I also saw Desdemona and The Ancient Mariner at Cool Roses which I plan on getting in the fall.

Hi Everyone. Got eggs boiling for deviled eggs and am about to organize plants too. Regina, I have extra Jet Setters and Amish Paste and one Roma if you're interested in any of those. Jen, I am about to dig up several of those tiny seedlings that I think are LB petunias. I'll bring several, but will put your name on one. Here's what I have down. I tried to put notes on my phone, but may have missed something. Nancy--Jet Setter and cardinal climber Rebecca -- cardinal climber Amy--LB petunia Lisa--cardinal climber Kim--2 Amish Paste and 1 Jet Setter Jen--LB petunia Kim, I took a piece of the coral honeysuckle and put it in a jar of water a week or two ago, but it didn't make roots. I recently read that a LARGE 3 ft. piece of plant needs to be put in water. The piece I took was much smaller. Do you want me to bring (in water) a 3 ft piece to try? Okay, let me know what I've forgotten.

Party, wow. That is a lot of fragrant flowers. Going to miss those in a week or two I'll bet once fall settles in. Ugh. Very nice. I have a clematis like that taking over one of my pine trees and yet in full bloom I can not smell a thing. I don't get it. Very elusive with me( Jane, thank you))) You should get her into it. Once she gets one to bloom she will be hooked for sure. They are a lot easier to grow than one may think. I grow mine on beautiful black humidity trays all winter. What a difference to every one of them. Yes, Logee's is the way to go. Small plants and a bit pricey but you get rare you can't find anywhere else, and I have just about every plant I bought from them from years ago. They are great quality plants. Very mature usually and flowering age. Has your daughter ever been to Logee's? You could spend all day in that place. It is like a safari without the animals. Many plants huge planted in grown. Smells so good and in the winter, I call it a great escape))) Half my citrus collection is from them Many of my orchids are too) Bob, do you grow yours outside? Mines are stalking and flowering like never before since I have. I use to keep them inside or in my greenhouse but they love the rains and fresh air. They also get a lot more sunlight than anything I have indoors. please post a pic once it blooms. I had tow in full bloom and I stuck them in my kitchen window that faces East for the summer and every morning the sun would rise, I could smell that from a couple rooms away, especially when I went to reach in the refridge right next to that window)) Bonasi, than you. Smell awesome. Everyone that comes over tells me my yard smells like heaven all year long until the frost.
