can you put garbage pullout under a sink?
Comments (19)badgergal, thanks for the additional pic and the model of revashelf you used. it loosk like you have framed cabinets, correct? it is indeed very tight down there, but glad that i know it can work, especially with framed cabinets! i was not sure if i should use framed, though my preferred cabinet vendor only does framed. so this gives me hope! mtnfever, thanks for the additional info on your sink setup. your sink is quite unique. i am looking forward to seeing pics of your "new" vintage sink some day! CJ, thanks for the pic of your prep sink. i want to put the garbage pullout in my prep sink as well since i anticipate this will be where most of the mess will be generated. how large is your sink and sink cabinet?...See MoreSink cabinetry ?'s (garbage under sink? Cabinet above?)
Comments (21)My kitchen is now 5 days old (haven't had time to take pics yet..too much time here instead!). I chose to have the garbage under my sink, instead of using up precious cabinet space. I have made 3 trips to Lowe's Rev-a-Shelf aisle because of a few things I did not consider before: 1) new 10" deep sink limits the height of the trash can I can use 2) hot water pipe limits the depth of the trash can I can use 3)left side of cabinet is totally unusable for trash due to 1 & 2 plus dishwasher drain hose from Bosch DW literally cuts the cabinet size in half (sigh!). My GC says he can call the plumber back "in a few weeks" to change all the plumbing around "for his hourly fees", but at this point I don't have the $$$ or the patience any more. I ended up buying the smallest Rev-a-shelf trash to fit the 16"deep space on the right. So, in summary, KUDOS to you for anticipating this issue before your plumbing is in. There are alot of after-market kits available, some much nicer than the small, cheap one I ended up with. Good Luck! Diane...See Morewhat garbage disposal under your apron sink?

Comments (18)I can understand that making a difference in what you might want...But does someone leave daily and can grab the trash and take it out on the way? Or use it as an exercise opportunity? (running up and down our stairs is nearly the extent of my 'fitness routine' and I welcome it as such) I don't know how old any kids in your household might be, but mine seem to always have energy to burn (even if they don't always realize it or want to use it) and could do 4 floors in no time. I'm not trying to be flip, or discount your concern, but I'd still value the larger sink over the 2 more gallons of room in the trash....See MoreHU-757119745
