Kitchen Cabinet color help
Comments (22)Thanks everyone! I have been putting it off because I know how long it took me the last time, years ago. The cabinets are a solid hardwood, not sure what kind. They were stained a very, very dark brown when we moved in 23 years ago. My kitchen is tiny, to the right of the pic, there is a counter in front of the sink. Then there is the space where my table and chairs are. That's where the window is. No window on the "appliance" side. Also used to be extremely dark paneling on the table side. I painted that also. I'll attach a pic of the table side of the kitchen. I will check out the recommended colors. Anyone change their opinions on color knowing there's no natural light on that side of the kitchen? The rustoleum counter paint worked great. It's smooth. I will say I have some chips in it. However, I didn't buy the entire kit that has I believe 3 steps to it. I bought one $20 can of sandstone and painted it on. I will reapply that also....See MoreKitchen Cabinet Color Help, Cool & Warm Grey in 1 Kitchen
Comments (5)you don't want white, and the darker colors, you say, will make it too dark, so that leaves you with light gray or one of those tones. what in the world are those cab made from? and who picked that granite to go w/those cabs? you say you're renting. they're letting you paint those? if they're made of a laminate type of material, the prep work for those will be necessary. quite frankly, I don't think it will look great painted. Do you really want to go through all of the work to paint those? have you ever painted cabinets? It's not something you can do in a weekend. Besides, that wood strip on the cabinets is kind of cool looking. changing out the country style cup pull to more of a bar pull will look better w/that style cabinet I'd leave the cabs and look into gettin a pre-fab, plain white or soft gray, quartz countertop. a 9' piece will cost about $450. fabricator can cut it to fit for another 600-900. maybe less depending on the layout of your kitchen. here's an example of pre-fab quartz, you only posted a small picture. post a pic showing the entire space...See MoreKitchen cabinet color help
Comments (19)The colder Pure White white that you have chosen for the trim doesn’t play well with the warmer colors in your home. It would be better to adjust the trim to be warmer than to paint the cabinets a colder color. If you paint those cabinets to match the trim, it’s going to throw everything off and be an even bigger cold/warm clash that is currently happening with the trim. Alabaster or Greek Villa would be a good white for both trim and cabinets. But if you repaint the trim, you won’t need to paint the cabinets. Whst else are you thinking of changing? The backsplash? Counters? Walls? Lighting?...See Morekitchen cabinet color help please!
