Please help with table lamp suggestions for the white Pottery Barn marble table and couch end table. Thanks!

PRO4 years agoReally ??? IMo you need 2 end tables by the sofa and 2 good sized lamps to serve whatever purpose you have in mind. IE reading or just for another layer of lighting. As for between the 2 chairs another lamp or a floor lamp with a table attached to give another layer of light. BTW the drapes do not look full enough to close and IMO even of you never close them they need to be full enough to allow that .

I appreciate the feedback so far and look forward to more suggestions! I agree that I'll need a lamp for both ends of the sofa. I'll replace the current panels with a fuller set. Would any of these lamps look good in the room?

Comments (7)Justgotabme, my husband thinks the table is too "interesting." LOL! I like it, but think maybe the scale is off with the tall narrow table and the kind of tall lamp and then the big chair and tall ceilings. So I was trying to figure out if it's the table or the lamp--hence my thought that maybe I should get a larger width table and table lamp. But then I wonder if a larger table and table lamp is going to look crowded and squat next to the TV? I thought about your idea moving the rug. I don't think I can as the sectional backs a wall of cabinets (not visible in the pics). The entry way into the room is between the sectional and couch. That is why the recliner is over too the side. The rug wouldn't be large enough to encompass the sectional and recliner. And there is not enough room with the cabinets to angle it. Comments (46)Funny about that 1/2 wall behind the sofa because down the road I think it will be removed. We really don't need it, and I don't think it does anything to enhance the space. For a bit, I had some of the homeless plates, vases, and bowls displayed but it really was not a flattering look. When the carpet is removed we will tackle demolishing that wall. I do get that the recliner is not the best match for the space and am open to others, but DH is a big guy and really likes to be able to stretch out on a comfy expanding chair. Most of the recliners he finds acceptable are huge huge huge and uglier uglier uglier. Going to have to play some more with the floor plan/arrangement of furniture ( on paper first of course- too exhausted for the actual at this point lol). So, yes I think pretty pillow, and an anchor for the TV will go a long way to making me feel it's acceptable. Then I can consider other enhancements for sure. I was planning to use these prints and frames - 2 on each side of the fireplace. It will bring in a lot of blue, so I planned to go more neutral with the lamp bases. Your thoughts?
PRO4 years agoSee the illustration below for heights you should strive to achieve. You could select a glass or ceramic table lamp for the end table with a fabric shade in WHITE so it doesn't clash with your drapery panels.
For this smaller table, I anticipate you will mount something on the wall. For that reason I would recommend a slender buffet type lamp
