I found several I liked by searching the various lighting stores for ceiling mounted fixtures rated for wet locations. Not sure what style you are going for, so I won't link to specific ones, but there was a square one I thought was cool. But I don't actually like showering under very bright lights, so we didn't end up using a ceiling fixture. We have a sconce on the wall above the tub and 2 on the mirror plus two big windows, though! And the Panasonic fan we used in our other bathroom has a night light and a bright light option (I had it wired for just the night light).

I assume the hatch to attic in the closet means you have access for ease of mounting. And that the hatch also makes it so you can't mount in center. How about some LED linear lights? They mimic the old style fluorescent, but have much better look and last a long time. With LED you can also choose a lower color temperature than traditional fluorescents. I prefer 2700k-3000k indoors, but think you will want ~3000k in a closet, maybe slightly higher color temperature. Also, you can try to get better CRI so that your clothes, etc look better when putting things together. Maybe you can use one on each side of the hatch? Plan the closet for your current needs, and alter it if the needs change. Elfa gives you a lot of flexibility. So, what ARE the current needs? Hanging? long or short? Party clothes, or professional work clothes, somewhat casual work, casual casual? Slacks, trousers, or jeans? shorts, skirts, dresses? Suits? Sweaters? Tees, polos, golf shirts? Button-downs or blouses? Accessories? Belts, ties, scarves? Hats, caps? Handbags, totes, briefcase? What about jewelry? Me, i had a closet where my necklaces actually hung around the closet bar conpletely tangle-free, and a chest below held the jewelry box on top for bracelets, and my dainties in the drawers. Will you want drawers in your closet for underwer and socks? Will you keep some things in the bedroom? Get thee to The Container Store or California Closets or your local closet planner with a list of what will go in the closet and how you like to store them, and they will help you come up with a solution for you.
