Awkward Salmon Brick- HELP!!!
Our home is a salmon color brick and I feel it needs some help in the curb appeal department. The trim/siding/gutters/windows/garage doors can all be changed, but we are completely against painting the brick. I love the look of dark trim and siding with brick, but I'm having a hard time visualizing what it would look like on our house. Also, the large window on the front needs something- just not sure what! The brick around the window is decorative and sticks out, so I don't think shutters are an option. Suggestions please!!!!!!!

Comments (11)How about building something around it that will look like a closet....open in the back, with a door in front that you can open to put things in out of sight. Would not need to attach it to the walls so you can take it with you. Failing that, I would say, put the dog food elsewhere and put a coat tree in the corning for caps, coats and maybe a low shelf for shoes. Comments (29)So that pic is from the previous homeowner. Honestly, I don't love the bookcase. It looks slightly wonky to me....look on the right side of it, you can see they used an existing bookcase and fit it into the spot. That's why I'm leaning towards framing it and covering it. I think it needs to look better. The beams I think need to be the original color, but sanding them down would be a pain and very messy....so I'm thinking of using a faux beam product to do it. 3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoA soft white would be nice with your brick to keep some contrast. Something like Ben Moore's Swiss Coffee is nice and looks quite a bit lighter when used on the exterior.
If you want to go darker for the trim, a gray/green would work nicely with your brick. Something like this or darker...

3 years agoI can't do a mockup but would be interested in seeing it with all black trim. My eye's telling me some contrast with both the brick and roof would be nice. Brick (including yours) can be nice with some black and white.

Here are two homes that were red brick and have been limewashed (not painted) to change the color of the bricks.

2 years ago@Ranee Randby, unfortunately online information indicates that gray/green color was a custom mix. These are some gray/greens from Benjamin Moore. The Herb Bouquet looks similar.
