These will be coming my way shortly after I pay off my house in July and pay my son's last semester of college in August.

A newer car, get dental implants,

Pay off this house, buy a house & land nearer to our daughter. Set up college funds for the g'kids. And a newer vehicle.

retirement (I'm in my early 50s)

A home (big enough for my whole family) on my own private lake near my granddaughter.

Thinking of a recent KT question, I'd buy my own Hundred Acre Wood. Mostly likely somewhere in West Virginia, the more 'middle of nowhere' the better.

A different house, with a bit more land (not a lot, just enough to indulge my experiments with a mini orchard), a bit farther away from town noise (ie trains and jets) and some features that I am lacking now, nearer to good biking and hiking trails. Perhaps even in a European country. That is the one thing. Of course I can think of other things, less big perhaps.

Gardengal mentions a car with better mileage. I have had a Honda Fit for 3 years now, love the MPG, and the cargo room has been a boon also. I was completely sure that my next car in about 3-4 more years (once this car is 9-10 years old) would be another Fit, but I sadly read that Honda has discontinued the model in the USA. So perhaps I should spend some of that money now to buy a new one (I usually buy 1-2 years old used cars)

A lot on Manalapan and then put up a double wide so if a hurricane takes, it, I'll just put up another.

Of course I would like a bigger house in Palm Springs, but what I really need is an Alfa Romeo sedan with a full 10 year warranty for all repairs, if I'm going to be practical. I have dreams of buying a Ferrari Roma or Lamborghini Sián Roadster, but that would just be asking for trouble.

Actually, the Ferrari is my favorite, and this is also one of the least expensive Ferraris. I do like the color of the Lamborghini, however, but this one is sold out.

Nothing. I have everything I want. I don’t want a second or larger home, more land, a car, a boat or anything else that requires maintenance, attention, work or time. They would merely be a source of stress and a burden to me. I would prefer to reduce the amount of stuff I have rather then add to it. I have enough to travel when and where I want (when we are able to again) and to eat well. I already live where I want to live. I don’t need anthing more.

I would buy a rescue center for unwanted cats and dogs, a no-kill type shelter and staff it with people, vets and supplies to take care of all of the animals.

I can't think of anything. Maybe a new house just for the change of scenery?

I'd rebuild the historical carriage house, caretaker's house in the original design on the property we just purchased. The foundations are still there, sitting sadly waiting to be rebuild, back to life again.

I would like to take a trip around the world, either cruising or by other means. I'm assuming this would take place post-Covid, so no masks!

An unlimited air travel ticket.

I would build a much bigger screened porch than the little one I'm planning which might have to end up as a walk-out patio....

A gold medical insurance policy that would cover "everything", just in case.

I’d buy the house across the street, kick out the owners, knock it down and turn the lot into a little park.

An indoor swimming pool! And, I'd pay the cable company to extend cable down my road.

I would do an indoor renovation of my house, and a new vehicle.

A big jet with crew so I could go wherever I want whenever I want and skip the main airport terminals. I would love to have a small historical cottage in Carmel and a small cottage on the seashore here in southern California.

Brand new vehicles, smaller home with pool, maid, pool boy and a yard person.

A household staff. We live in the boonies in a big old rambling house on a big ole rambling property.

Couple folks to tend to the yard stuff I'd rather not spend time on so I can spend more time on the gardening stuff I want to do.

Maintenance/construction person to handle all those little and big jobs around the place. If money is no object, I would be doing all sorts of stuff around here that a supervisor like this would be needed.

And a personal assistant. Someone to help me and kick me in the butt with cleaning and getting out there with the gardening. Sous chef in the kitchen. I don't really need someone to do that for me, but often four hands are handier than two.

Honorable mention for a general mechanic that can go from cars to tractors to small engines of various.

And the funds to pay the staff handsomely, with area living stipend and additional pay, and benefits.

I'd be happy with a comfortable house for two and a few critters but with a few extra rooms for guests. It must also include a large enough dining room (I'm Italian and have a big family) and an attached greenhouse cuz I'm an incurable plant nut

Forget myself! I would buy my son a place to live. Preferably somewhere that he could transition easily as he ages into getting more help.

Enough major political influence to save my family (and everyone else) from the bumbling self serving greedy stupid U.S. leaders who have created such widespread misery this past year.

A luxury retirement.

But I realize that’s not a tangible “thing”. So next would be a three bedroom in South Kensington.

A new kitchen and an interior decorator. Maybe new veneers from the dentist (wish I hadn’t done them).

There's a few things on the list, but until the money's in hand I can't be sure. Reality changes minds.

A large luxury condo in Hawaii and maid service to keep it clean.

Larger (but not large) home on about twenty acres. With trees. :)

I need a house....nothing extravagant. Or huge. I would also like a koi pond and a mud bottomed pond for waterlilies. Could use a new truck and horse trailer. I don't need a maid or gardener. I don't like people underfoot.

World cruise - generally they are about 100 days.

Enough land to be able to have an animal sanctuary. My dream.

A second home in a warm state for the winters.

For me personally, I'd want to have veneers for my teeth, to have a beautiful smile. For our family I'd want a vacation home in Galway Ireland, so any of us could use it as a home base, when we want to travel through Europe.

I would like a chef to come to my house every evening and prepare a wonderful meal and clean up afterward. Then I'd tear down the house next door and use that lot to put in a swimming pool.

A home remodel with CLOSETS!

Or, if I were in a hurry, a few cars. :-)

There is nothing I really want but I would start flying business class every time I got on an airplane.

A larger home, a car, and I would hire someone to clean, and cook to make healthy meals. I suppose I should hire someone to drive me around in that new car, too.

I know I was supposed to buy one thing, but if money was no object, why would I stop with one ?

A beach house for my family to use whenever we want.

Since I'm quite attached to my 182 year old house where I've lived for 38 years and don't want to move, I'd like a huge closet. I have four bedrooms including the only smallish one which I would turn into a huge walk-in closet for myself.

A second home in the mountains of North Carolina or North Georgia near the AT or another hiking trail with a caretaker on call.

I have often said that with enough resources I would go into historic preservation, especially rehabbing once-lovely neighborhoods that are now heading toward slum status into affordable housing. I would also like to improve the education of our young in the disadvantaged areas, and the literacy of adults in our city.

But the question was what would I buy for myself...

I can't think of anything major that I want.

A trip to visit my daughter near Atlanta I guess, when the border reopens. But some say that travel health insurance is risky, as they often claim that your treatment related to preexisting problems, so I won't be going, I think, as in the U.S., health repair is the major reason for bankruptcies, I've heard.

Having avoided financial risk due to covid, I've done a bit of checking among friends as to whether they know of a small business operator close to risk of shutting down who might be able to survive with a little help, with a view to perhaps trying to raise some money to offer a supporting loan.
