Possibly sick young lemon tree.
Comments (6)Thank you Tom. I will be keeping an eye on it. It might be scale, I noticed some white stuff on the bottom two leaves that I wiped off and it was living by a lucky bamboo that was infected with scale. I don't know if it can pass from plant to plant though, can it? Here are a couple closer pictures of the leaves, it looks like something is eating away it them, one is with flash to show the details a little bit better, one without to show the true color better. you can sort of see the whitemail stuff coming back down in the lower right of the picture by the middle of the leaf. Comments (3)Your big new branch appears to be a water sprout; I would prune it back to the general canopy level; it is a sign you are being too kind to your tree. Maybe next year the new branch will produce. Do not cut any of the flowers; if they make fruit, you can cut most at the size of BB or pea to give the tree more energy to put into growth....See MoreCitrus Disease on young Lemon and Lime Tree
Comments (3)Citrus leaf miner is not much of a concern on large citrus trees. However, on small young trees the miner does cause quite a stress on the tree . Most commercial growers don't bother with controlling the insect on large producing trees....See MoreHelp my Meyer lemon tree wintered indoors just noticed bugs in soil
Comments (7)Steve, you crack me up...lol Just put aluminum foil around the buckets and you will have shiny ones too) Rene, now that your trees are outside they will grow back leaves suited for summer. You gained leaves that are use to lights not the sun and that is why you shedded the darker older ones. They should grow back. Becareful though not to put your trees right back into the sun right away or they will burn off. They actually look pretty good for being held up indoors for so long. Hope you are not in stoe for another winter blast like we are here in good ole New England( As for the bugs, I use Neem oil mixed with a bit if natural soapy water and drown/suffoctae the buggers. Not sure whay they are, too hard to tell. Did you use outside soil, or a bagged sterile mix? What kind of soil is that?...See MoreMeyermike(Zone 6a Ma.)
