Tile layout suggestions for 6x12 wall and 12x24 floor
Comments (3)I'd want to do the same type of layout. But I'm kind of rigid like that in my thinking. It might look too close in layout, that the other looks like it was put in by mistake. So the limiting factor is the large format tile, recommended not to do a 50% offset. So I'd do the same with the wall, unless you really deviated from the pattern and did something totally different, like a stacked or herringbone. Again that is my take on it. Maybe others have other ideas and images of examples....See Moregrey tile, 12x24 or 24x24? or different colour altogether?
Comments (6)The gray will be tricky with pine I agree the rectangular tile is more modern I live the really huge tiles but they require a perfect subfloor and a very experienced tile setter who has done many installs of huge tiles Porcelanosa has awesome huge tile if tyou are in the budget place to choose that .IMO do not even begin to choose wall color until the flooring is in and please in this type of style make sure all the lighting in every fixture is LED 4000K...See MoreWhat size floor tiles should I use: 24x 24 or 12 x 24 or hardwood?
Comments (19)And in the downstairs bathroom. Right now carpet but will remove carpet and put hardware in the rooms downstairs where I have carpet. Just on fence about my home office (sunroom?) tile or hardwood....See MoreAny suggestions where I can have 12x24 tile cut to 12x12?
Comments (8)Abandon this plan and choose appropriate materials. Plus, you need an installer to have agreed to do the job sooner rather than later. You should not be planning anything without some expert help. Or you end up just making expense and extra work for the job. Daltile has multiple lines with 12x12 tiles that can do a checkerboard, from a classic zero pattern black and white, to a concrete look in Volume that has multiple colors available for a modern take on checkerboard. Or, Perpetuo, if you want a marble look. All tiles for a pattern MUST have the same line, gauging, and same model number to successfully do a checkerboard. You can not use tiles from different lines or different series. Even within the series, the SKUs can differ, and you cannot mix them. A 1PJ SKU cannot mix with a 1RECT SKU. They will not have similar gauging....See Moresimplechoices
