updating bathroom--your ideas, please!
Comments (2)Check out Golden Leaf granite slabs in your area. It has browns, black, gray - all touches. I have it in parts of the kitchen and in the laundry room. Looks great with cream, stained pine, french gray island, etc. I know it's hard to tell from pictures on the internet, but this is close to what mine looks like IRL. Some images appear "golden" but I've never seen any IRL golden. The gray doesn't show up in online pictures. Your more likely to get water stains on marble in bathrooms. My parents have several bathrooms full of marble (floors, showers, tub surround) and they have it resealed regularly. Can you post a picture of your room? Comments (4)I’d paint all the woodwork in the bathroom. It will lighten the look, which right now is very heavy. I painted all the wood in my one bathroom, cabinets and all. I like the unified look even though there are several paint colors. The door is not painted on the outside, but is in the bathroom side. My other bathroom: I had all new wood put in to match. Vanity, wall cabinets, doors, and case work. I think it would be tricky to mix woods. With regards to the tan floor, be sure you know what color tan you have. Just like grays and whites, tans can be a color, such as yellow or pink. If you cant tell get a friend to help determine. Some people have a very good ability to see color and some don’t....See MoreUpdating Honey Oak Cabinets: Ongoing maintenance?

This is something you could do yourself if you do the research and practice enough to become familiar with the product. Plus you'd save thousands and you have no time constraints....See MoreBathroom Update!?
Comments (1)I am not seeing a picture of anything I would call a sunburst wall, nor any shower. Are we missing some pictures? I like the walls and ceiling, I would not worry that they look different. You do need some trim to cover the place where the wainscoting and the upper wall meet. You may wish to wait until the window is in and then choose a trim style for the whole room. As for the vanity, is it working for you? Does it store what you need in a convenient way? If so, you could paint it. Are you keeping the top? Can you afford to replace them? So many of your questions depend on the financial and personal preferences of those who live there, so I can’t answer for sure....See MoreDavid Blades
