Lighting advice please

Need help planning the lighting for this lake house dining room.

Will be replacing the chandelier but so far it is the only source of light, so need a plan for adding the right amount of additional lighting. Types of lights and where to place them would be very helpful.

Seeing lots of rattan and woven fixtures that I like, but worry they may not give the best result (not really interested in a pattern on the walls).

Notes:

  1. Recessed lighting is not an option due to the fact that the paneled ceiling is actually the floor of the room above.

  2. Room will be painted BM Collingwood with white baseboards.

  3. For now, we are leaving the paneled ceiling as is. May pant it white later but want to try to live with it first, it is beautiful.

  4. This is a lake house, with a cottage vibe

  5. I hate, truly hate, exposed bulb filaments. So the bulbs need to be either frosted or under a shade.

  6. This room opens to the family room, which has a ceiling fan with light and will also have table and floor lamps.

Thanks in advance
