Can anyone share info on and a pic of Fafard 52 Mix? Please?
Comments (31)Reading about the Fafard brand I tried to find the 52 locally..but those who had it were sold out. There is a map on their site where you can find out who in your area carries it..but when calling some didn't..so I called the Sungro company,( they now make the Fafard brand.). and they asked me where I lived..and they gave me the number of the sales rep who knows exactly who carries it. However..he told me that one of our local nurseries has their mix that they private label..It isn't the 52..but he says it's good) He also told me nursery mix and 51L Al likes is no longer available...Before I talked to him I talked to the tech at the sungro company...and he recommeded Black Gold..if you look on the sungro website..they have all their brands..they even make the sunshine brand.....I guess some parts of the country have their different brands. I keep reading against vermiculte...so was trying to stay away from that...however I think 52 has it in it..but I could be wrong..but the ingredients are on the site.. This company makes a good many of the brands I located when I was calling around..that I found on their site....the rep I talked with was very nice..so I am sure they are willing to answer questions. Yes, purchasing it already mixed would be so much easier...but I definitely want to make the soil for my houseplants...and succulents..and want to try the 5.1.1 too, for my container tomatoes.... I figured the best way to feel more confident was to ask about the things I have found confusing.....See MoreJESUS! Are you brave enough...
Comments (21)jolanaweb I read the cynical responses to your request on the tree forum, and they made me so mad because they were being just down right rude to you. And so I posted a thread over here about their rudeness, and that's when jolanaweb jumped in too. Those people over there scare me. I think that the picture is of Jesus_ because he does look like a Marine. Both my boys are Army, but all the service guys look alike with the haircuts. Last Christmas when my son was here in Rockport, he asked a hair dresser to give him an Army haircut. She didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about. Sorry for getting off the subject. I don't want to get anyone upset with me like they have done on some other forums....See MoreMake me brave enough to use this tile.....
Comments (54)katie, katie, katie ...YES! i think it's only natural to move on from what you've already done. and i see a definite relationship between the tile and (of all things) the faucet. or is it just me? -but the faucet has this utilitarian/modern vibe going on which really works well with the contemporary/exotic nature of the tile. it's an elegantly restrained fusion that REALLY works. but it's scary and i definitely get that. trust me. i STILL don't have a BS and i might never. i just hope that when the right one comes along, i have the guts to go with it. good luck, girlie. i'm voting YES. and i can't wait to see the finish!!!...See MoreHow did you get brave enough...?
Comments (10)We got brave enough to remodel when everything fell apart and we realized that we had become comfortable with an inefficient space that just didn't work. Things I've found helpful: recommendations from people you know & trust who have nothing to gain/lose by sharing their experiences (neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc). We picked our general contractor because he had successfully/cheerfully built a house for some very fussy friends. He would only work with sub-contractors who were responsive to him and his clients, did good work, had responsible work ethic, and were nice to be around. During the 6 months of our remodel, I never heard 1 person swear (a much different experience from our first remodeling experience where it seemed like many of workers had to be on some kind of prison work release program) I did a lot of research, went to quite a few remodel open house tours (done by NARI contractors to get new business)that featured average houses like ours. This forum is quite helpful with things to think about. A previous poster mentioned (I agree after being on this list 2 years) that many of the participants have much higher budgets than the average kitchen remodel. While I didn't use it, many parts of the country have active Angie's List where people post their experience with local trades people. You can also pick up some tips on local people by putting your town name (if it's a larger population)or state in the question title. A while back, someone asked some questions about Madison, WI (my town) and there were 4-5 of us with responses. We had a smooth remodeling experience, cost more than planned, was dirtier than expected, felt like a home invasion often (we didn't move out), gave our dog psychological trauma. My only regret is not doing it years earlier. We love the new space (changed the floor plan completely), new appliances, new look!!! That said, I believe remodeling isn't for everyone. Sometimes, it's better to sell and buy the place that better suits you. It's an adventure! All the best in whatever path you travel!...See MoreUser
