House paint help! Need suggestions on exterior or photoshop help!
Comments (15)she is having the exposed foundation covereed in stone Probably already knows not to do anything with paint color until the stone is done. After the stone is up, she might have a dozen new color directions to chase. :D Exterior isn't like interior. Interior you do not have to have every last stitch in place to fit a room with color. As long as the basics, permanent elements are in place you can work color. Exterior isn't near as malleable because Mr. Sunshine is so darn intense and direct outside. Get the foundation covered in stone and then take another look. I'm thinking, with the stone in place, she should consider going light and neutral on the body or commit big and go with a dark, punchy color scheme with some drama. Safe midtones could add up to just a mediore color outcome for that house. A really cute house, btw....See MoreHow to turn this Santa FE house into a cozy home?
Comments (23)Yes, Fori, rugs and a cat :-). Lynn, I love you home and think it is very inviting and cozy-looking. I'm looking for that look and feel. It is out there - maybe someone is going to move to be near their grandkids - a win-win for everyone :-D. Ida, you and Lynn are both right on with your perspectives. Some homes here are all about the view and others seem to be creating a cozy shelter from the elements with outdoor living areas to enjoy. There seems to be a contemporary trend in a lot of the new homes being built....See MoreLooking for exterior enhancement suggestions on this home/landscape
Comments (15)Golly!! The exterior of the house is fine.......it's the landscape that needs help. Serious help! You need to rip everything out and start over. There is nothing there worth saving. Your garden could/should be a showplace that compliments and enhances your charming home. Now it is just a distraction and excuse me for saying, a bit of an eyesore. A good landscape design for that house and property is well beyond what an online forum can provide. You need to hire a local professional. Design services are a relatively modest investment. It is the actual implementation of the design where costs start to mount - clearing and site prep, hardscaping, planting, etc. All somewhat labor intensive and labor is the primary cost. If you are comfortable or familiar with the process, you can do a lot of the labor yourself. Or if not, hire it done, in phases if costs are a concern. But don't skimp on that process. A well designed and implemented landscape can significantly increase property values....See MoreAnyone have suggestions of what can be done to this homes exterior
Comments (7)I dont think, its awful. I think its kind of cute. What it needs most is some nice landscaping, and a good cleaning. I would also want something like an awning, to cover the door area. Trash can should be at the back of the house. Right now, it just looks a bit unloved. Once you clean it up and put a bit of tlc, and some nice landscaping into it, it will be adorable. Also maybe a few small sized trees in the front yard. I cant see where your driveway is, but, a sidewalk, to the front door from the driveway, would add a lot....See More- 3 years ago
