Any suggestions

I dont think, its awful. I think its kind of cute. What it needs most is some nice landscaping, and a good cleaning. I would also want something like an awning, to cover the door area. Trash can should be at the back of the house. Right now, it just looks a bit unloved. Once you clean it up and put a bit of tlc, and some nice landscaping into it, it will be adorable. Also maybe a few small sized trees in the front yard. I cant see where your driveway is, but, a sidewalk, to the front door from the driveway, would add a lot.

I'd be concerned about the zig zag crack above the front door on the left hand side. I'd also be concerned that if someone took such poor care of the exterior of their home that they may have not taken good care of the interior either. Cosmetics aside, I'd be worried that these are signs of more repairs and more money to spend on this home than it may be worth to you. The aesthetics of the outside could end up being just the tip of the iceburg.

The biggest issue is the roof. Mansard roofs look good in decorative slate tiles, never in asphalt. You can remove the asphalt shingles on the sides and replace with siding that you paint. That would make a big difference. Paint the door and the trim a color that coordinates with the brick. Pressure wash the brick. Possibly lose the shutters. Then work on landscaping. Lots of flowering shrubs should do the trick.

The oddest feature on the house is the lack of an overhang--enlarged eave over the door. If you like the mansard roof line, then I would build out the area above the door. Replace the 2nd story window with a longer one to help balance the house.

I would go with portico and some porch. Plus some fence/ covering for garbage bins, plus landscape.
