Kitchen Aid dishwasher handle problem
Comments (9)Your options for the DW are: --lucking out and finding a handle somewhere that fits. --building a recess into the wall behind the DW so it can be pushed in further. --a different DW. --revising the adjacent cabinet with a filler piece so the drawer doesn't hit the DW. I saw your other post about your range not fitting either. What happened here? Did your KD and GC not pay attention to the appliance specs? Why aren't they solving this problem? Meaning recessing the DW vs a filler piece in the adjacent cabinet, and talking with the countertop fabricator about the range....See MoreSteam damage to dishwasher cabinet panel?
Comments (16)We purchased a Parade Home with all the upgrades in June 2014. By November 2014 we started seeing our stain fading off the front panel of our dishwasher wood front panel. Then our dishwasher front computer panel froze up. I had to google how to reset the computer board. 2 months later the computer panel froze up again. I called the expert to come look at it. He said that #1 the dishwasher was put in at a tilt and the steam was making the stain come up and get into the computer board. He thinks that the weight of the wood panel tilted the dishwasher and caused the problem. The stain has faded on the top of the panel already. I have to pay $275 for a new computer panel on a KitchenAid dishwasher that is only 1 1/2 years old. I don't know if I should take the issue up with the builder? Of course we only have a 1 year contract...But I feel this resulted because he was uneducated about KitchenAid and wood front panels. Like xedos mentioned in the last comment, wood panels are made for Miele, Bosch, or Asko where the steam does not effect the front panel. This is so frustrating to me. (If you don't have experience building "high end" homes than DON'T BUILD THEM!!!)...See MoreKitchen Aid or Other Dishwasher Help

Also there are machines that have the letter "E" in the model number and they are the European filter based washed system with variable speed wash motor and alternating spray arms. Quieter and more energy efficient. "S" shaped spray arms FX=fully integrated controls on top of the door & towel bar handle. Certain models feature a cycle sequence LED on upper right corner of the front door panel. FXPA=same as above---accepts custom door panels to match your cabinets SX=fully integrated with top controls, towel bar handle and on-board water softener IX=traditional console with visible front controls, cycle sequence LED & pocket handle CX=same as above, but has digital display-bar graph cycle sequence indicator HX=fully integrated top controls with flush lever style handle on the front of the door...See MoreKitchenAid Dishwasher questions:
Comments (10)I have a KA "S" model - about five years old and it's great. It can mounted to the side cabinets without any special kit. There are instructions in the manual - you can probably read it online - basically, there are plugs on the sides of the DW that you remove, take the tabs from the top of the door, insert them on the sides and screw them in. Mine vents out the top front - no problem at all....See Moreswimkim74
