Train, last day hubs pulled train inside shed

Tornado Tidbits - in 2014 an EF4 Tornado, killing 16, struck about 15 miles south of our home. An hour or so later we would hear what sounded like sleet hitting our roof. It wasn’t. Instead, it was debris from the Tornado. The next day I walked around our lot picking up pieces of shingles, insulation, sheet rock, children’s drawings, shredded pages from books and placed them into this montage.

I would like to add another "T" today. This tablecloth that I use only for the Christmas season. It is a piece of cloth that was sent to my daughter when she was caring for the elderly Mother of one of her collage professors who was teaching in Malawi Africa. It isn't big enough for the table, so I use a red cloth under it. It works! I absolutely love it.

He told me one of his friends, who lives in London, is no longer able to come back to Norfolk to be with his family over Christmas due to the latest restrictions, so I do feel extra lucky that he’s made it back to us.

Maddiemo, both my kids and partners are in London and we’re in Tier 2. Haven’t seen them for months. Four o’clock on Saturday Boris cancelled our Christmas. Annoying, since they’d stayed at home for days so as not to bring the plague to us. So, we have five days worth of food for six adults here and they have had to rush out and forage, having emptied their fridges. Still, the house is clean. I only do it when we’re going to have visitors.

Oh no floral! I’m sorry to hear that. It must be such a disappointment for you all.

I hope they manage to stock up on Christmas fare essentials without too much hassle, and that most of your extras can be frozen.

There’s no way to put a positive spin on a cancelled Christmas, but I hope it goes well, and they’ll be another opportunity for you all to get together again soon.

Not my word or label. Was it three or so years ago these paper/cardboard houses became vogue for Christmas? I was rather taken a back by the name--and I still don't know the Yiddish meaning just because it didn't sound accurate!! It seems to be the label people know "paper houses" by so who am I to argue!!? I hope no one was offended!! Ignorance is a dangerous thing!!!

Yeah, words are funny things. When they're said in a foreign language, they seem to be more acceptable. I used to enjoy Mad About You, and Paul always called his buddy a "putz" which, had it been in English, the FCC would've made them bleep it. But in yiddish? No problem. Same with poppycock which means more than "nonsense" in Dutch.

Pottery Barn THROW that I only have because of help from a kind poster, bluebell, on Conversations. There were none to be found anywhere remotely near me, but she spotted one in her Pb, across the country from me. She actually offered to buy and ship it to me!!! I called the store, at bluebells suggestion, and had it sent to me. I’d never have it if not for her, and we love it in our little mini office/ extra guest room. I mean, doesn’t that Kindness warm your heart?!
