I'll take it either way, but I'm the only one that drinks it at my house.

So mug it is.

Mug. We have a hot shot for boiling water...you stick your mug underneath and dispense the water into the mug.

I make it in a mug, but I don't use a teabag. I use leaf tea and an infuser.

Since I have to limit the amount I drink of teas of all kinds because of the microscopic amount of yeasts and molds that occur naturally on dried leaves I must only drink an occasional cup so there is no sense for me to make a pot. If I want the membranes around my eyes to start itching I can drink a second cup which I have been known to do.

In a tea pot, on a tray. Have done this for many years, however as of late tea doesn't agree with me so I have it perhaps a couple times a month compared to every afternoon. :(

I'm very extremely fussy about coffee but not about tea.

I don't drink a lot of tea so a relatively fresh Lipton tea bag in a mug, very hot water and a long brewing time is fine for me.

Earl Gray tea bag in a mug, add water, zap for 2 minutes, let it sit til it won't scald my tongue.

Typically mug. Or if I have fresh pods I'll make tea with my Keurig sometimes (and that's still a mug, not a tea cup). In a pot usually at my sisters or my brothers if I'm making tea there - because that's their habit.

DH & I drink different, mostly herbal, teas daylong. We have an electric water kettle and large pottery mugs. We use individual teabags.

I love the ritual of having tea, complete with tea pot, and use to enjoy one or two cups when I went to visit my Mom or my SO's Mom to play cards or just chat. Now that they are no longer with us and it's just us two, I just microwave a cup of water with a Tetley tea bag in it.

Well I'm fussy about tea. Lipton is crap...buy Red Rose or Tetley.

I like to use a teapot to get the full tea flavor and experience.

I just have one cup at a time, so I use one of six mugs like the one below. The others are each different birds and one is a butterfly. The tea is my current favorite.

Usually a pot, to share with DH. Back when our oldest was a toddler, our Friday night date was this: DS in bed, tea brewed and delivered to the family room on a tray with a plate of Lu’s chocolate covered biscuits, and Antiques Roadshow. Good times!

I brew it in my mug. NEVER microwaved. I did buy one of those thermal carafes last week at Goodwill. Might be nice to fix it the way I like it and have it sit on the end table ready to pour another cup. Wonder how long they stay hot! Inside likes like a glass thermos so probably for hours.

I live alone, I make my tea in a mug. Either nuked in the microwave or by pouring hot water over it from a pot. Usually if just me, it's a tea bag and not loose, but this depends. Cannot stand liptons or tetley. I just discovered a black tea with cardamom- really good. Earl Grey is another favorite. Later in the day, a good rooibos is lovely.

For guests, I round up the singing teakettle to heat the water, and add that either to individual cups or mugs, or if we are all enjoying the same tea, to a suitable pot with tea leaves, that we soon decant from.

I make it in a pot. Lately I've been drinking Twining's English Breakfast Tea, but my favorite is Fancy Keemun, which I buy loose. I buy Twining's in teabags and one teabag will make two cups (mugs). I only drink one cup a day and drink no coffee.

Pot. Nothing wrong with a mug but my little pot gives me two and a half cups. The idea of microwaving tea makes me shudder😉 Every British home has an electric kettle. Heat the empty pot and use just boiled water. Brew ten minutes because I like it strong. I drink two or three pots of tea day. On top or three or four mugs of coffee in the morning.

Usually a mug as I only drink one cup per day, usually. I do think drinking tea out of a China cup tastes much better. I heat my water in an electric pot.

I too don't like tetley or lipton. We drink red rose. I only drink decaf though. I have *lots* of different teas to choose from...chai rooibos...ginger turmeric...elderberry...mango ginger...lemon ginger...and so on. Then I have black teas like regular, earl gray and english breakfast.

And I'm a coffee drinker...but of course only decaf too.

I like hot tea, but seldom drink it. I think I will start back, due to the chilly weather. I heat the water in the microwave and pour it over a teabag in the mug. I like sweet hot tea and unsweetened iced tea. My mother always made it in a pot, but she had more people to share it with. Jody likes coffee but not hot tea.

Pot only!!!! And I have several to chose from. Right now I'm using a Christmas one with poinsettias.

By the mug, with either teabags or loose with teaballs. Exception is genmaicha. I have a little Yixing teapot that I've been curing with genmaicha, it makes one mug of tea at a time. Other exception is sometimes I make a big pot of tea to go with Chinese dinners.

Tetley in a pot. Extra strong. I preheat the teapot with hot water, then add boiling water from an electric kettle.

I drink it with a splash of milk.

Boiling water straight into a thin china mug with a Yorkshire Tea, or occasionally if they’re on offer, Twinings teabag.

It has to be strong, and I take it with a little milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar.

It’s the first thing I do every day, but the rest of the day could see coffee in the mix.

If it's just for me, I have no issues with bagged tea in a mug. But always with freshly boiled water from the kettle. But if I am serving to guests, loose leaves in a pot.

I rarely consume hot tea - coffee is my hot drink of choice :-) And when I do, it is typically on a cold and wet afternoon. Otherwise I drink unsweetened, unflavored ice tea....by the gallon! And that I DO make with tea bags intended specifically for that purpose. I go though a package of family sized bags every month.

A nice warming tea drink is Blueberry Tea that DH and I enjoy as a cold weather treat. To one cup of tea, add 1 oz. Amaretto and 1 oz. orange liqueur (or to taste).

Mug. Boiling water (never microwaved). Lipton used to be my daily tea, but now it seems too strong, and almost bitter. I was drinking Luzianne Decaf where we used to live, but can't find it anywhere here . My daily tea is a store brand decaf black tea . I have many other brands and flavors to have as a "treat" .

Tea bags contain tea 'dust' and ground up bits of tea leaves -- the faster to color the water, m'dear!

I haven't found much difference if leaf tea is loose in the pot or in a tea 'ball', but I think that makes a better cup of tea than any tea 'bag'.

What difference could it make *how* you heat the water -- M/W, electric kettle, pot on the stovetop -- as long as the water is HOT and you pre-heat the pot?

DH and I have a pot of tea and cookies most afternoons while we watch an hour's worth of a movie or an episode of a TV series via streaming. We like Twinings Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Lemon/Ginger, and Jasmine.

It depends upon how much I think I will be drinking - so either a single mug if I think just one or two, or in my thermos pot (yes that will keep the tea hot for hours). I boil the water on the stove in my kettle - I do think that boiling does something to improve off flavors from the city water supply.

Mug, I just gave away one of my teapots because it never gets used. I still have a couple left but have those tea infusers, my daughter sent me a mug with one built in, which I still haven't used. When it was just me here it was useless to make a whole pot of tea.

I collect teapots, so of course usually use one. l gave a number of them to kith and kin recently, but still quite a few left. I use a tea ball, usually, but occasionally use a bag since I was gifted with a huge supply of unusual teas last Christmas

We heat up water in our stainless steel tea kettle, and pour the water over the tea sachets in our mugs. We drink Harney & Sons tea, with our two favorite flavors being Hot Cinnamon Spice (which is H&S's most popular flavor worldwide) and Paris.

I've purchased teas from Harneys for many years. Paris is also one of my favorites. Their Earl Grey Supreme is good, too. I prefer to buy the loose tea and don't use an infuser. Just a tsp. or two in the pot. However I do have an infuser that sits on the brim of the cup into which I pour the steeped tea, it catches the leaves.

Yorkshire Gold is one I drink most often now, in tea bags or loose.

I need to correct my post about the brim-sitting infuser - I should have said "strainer".

Constant Comment Tea is my favourite. It is an orange and spice tea. We can’t buy it here in Canada. I have bought it from Amazon, but it’s really expensive.

I make it in a mug since I am the only one drinking it. For the last 60 years I use to drink tea every afternoon until lately when it started acting as a diuretic. It doesn't matter whether it is green tea or English Breakfast. I hate having to go to the bathroom every two hours. Funny, ice tea doesn't have the same effect.

I've always made my (I drink Tetley only) tea in a pot. Even though it's only me drinking it. Always with boiling water from a kettle, and heating the pot first.

caflowerluver, I began having the same symptoms several years ago. Mostly cramping and some diarrhea. I couldn't explain it - same tea, same water, same cups, etc. I wash everything thoroughly. I even called Harneys to ask if any other customers had complained, and she suggested it may be an allergy to bergamot? After all these years?

Perhaps our systems just change as we age. :(

I don't drink hot tea often but when I do I use the electric water kettle to heat water and a teabag in a teacup. DH uses a mug.

We make loose leaf tea by the pot. I'm lucky if it lasts 2 days between the two of us!

Mug. I do use an electric kettle. I like Tetley's and constant comment. Lately, I am big on the peppermint tea too.

Always make tea in a pot. I make a pot that will give me 3 large porcelain mugs of tea. Sometimes though when I don't finish the pot I will reheat my tea in the microwave the next day. Doesn't taste the same as a fresh pot of tea. My microwave gave up the ghost last week so today I reheated my tea in a pot on the stove. I don't know why I just didn't make a fresh pot instead.
