Does Horse Chestnut count?

I had fun making this little ornament for my SIL yesterday. She had a red VW Bug when I first met her almost 50 years ago.

Sun shining coming back into harbor. We don’t have any horses, know several members have beautiful ones. Hopefully will post your beautiful horses.

Nhbaskets, love your ornament. Was her car like this one. We have a 63 VW, have owned since 1963. She is 57 years old now.

Yes! Exactly like that. She no longer has it, but her and my brother have always had VWs. Think I came close!

Jim--I recognize that place--it's the Salty Dog in Homer, AK! My brother lives there--he has a home on the bluff with an amazing view of Kachemak Bay. Homer is a beautiful little town.

This is Nelly. A friend just bought her.

She's a Shire draft horse, which she'll ride. She's also very tall, 17 hands, but also very gentle. I fell in love with her.

She was walking towards me and I put my hand up to stop her. I figured she'd walk right over me, but she immediately stopped. We put her in the stable with cross ties so I could brush her.

I, too, had a VW bug - a 1971 yellow one. I had it for 11 years and sold it for just a little less than I paid for it brand new. What a fun car to own. nhbaskets, that ornament is adorable and I'm sure will become a treasured keepsake. Awesome.

Well, you know I love any opportunity to share pictures of Teddy. He was the sweetest horse and we had 7-1/2 wonderful years together and I was so happy to give him the best retirement a horse could want.

My mom had a black VW bug when I was growing up. One night some friends of hers snuck over and put a suction cup wind up key on the back of it. What a fun thing!

Hubs taught the kids to drive in that VW. Main reason we wanted them to always drive a stick shift. That car is still in great shape after two teenage drivers from some years back. Hubs will teach our two grands to drive in this car. After 57 years, she looks same as day she rolled out of Germany. Gives me smiles reading each of your VW stories. Loving all the pics today. dedtired, I had the extreme pleasure of taking riding lessons in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco when I lived there and there were days when we would leave the ring work and go through the park, down to the beach and ride on the beach. Magic!!!
