How do I fix a off centered window and ceiling peak?
Comments (22)I agree that curtains are making the situation worse. They look pretty bad hung as they are, too low and too wide. Even if you raise them above the window, which would be better, but even then, they highlight the fact that the rod is not centered on the arch. I'd use just a shade the same color as wall (once it's painted the ceiling color). Then move the TV over to center of the blank wall....See MoreHow do I fix this countertop that I screwed up?
Comments (5)Agreed with the previous comment: You likely need to sand the entire thing, using a consistent final grit everywhere, and begin again when temperatures are above 50 (ideally even warmer than that). It's possible to match stains, but if your stain is coming off of the entire piece, I think you're better off starting over. You didn't mention what type/brand of stain or solvent(s) you used. I'd guess you used either a gel stain or a wiping stain if it's still coming off. If that's the case, next time you stain, wipe off all excess with a clean rag before the stain dries. (Stains and types of stains are very different - then add in different types/hardness of wood and results vary a lot.) In the meantime, if you absolutely cannot wait for warmer weather and do not have warm space to do this, I'd suggest cutting a piece of plywood (sacrificial) and covering it with contact paper. Alternatively, get a cheap piece of prefab formica. Good luck!...See MoreHow do I fix this temporary until I can replace the wood fully
Comments (9)There was a wall taken out that is directly opposite from where the floor is damaged the wall was taken down due to mold , I think there was some spotting in the ceiling so I would assume it was from above but the answer or question is , For a temporary cover up aka fix What could I possibly use to cover or treat the area in order to lay down stick tile? We are aware it is done for but unfortunately we lost everything we owned from our business , car , previous home , And our family due to unforeseen circumstances and we have been house ridden in depression and We are now in a rental that is extremely affordable and made the agreement that we can work on it in exchange for a discounted rent . So far we have repainted, Torn up the entire carpet , Laid down the new tile in dining room , Took down the old discusting ceiling fans ,Put new blinds over all the windows, Attempted to put updated window treatments but It looks cheesy and I want to return them I tried to get the question out here on what I needed to In reference to color schemes, Placements of everything as well as helping me pick out furniture from Wayfair and rooms to go for which I have a credit card of 10000 and can pickup anything that I'm being told to. But people keep telling me I'm doing my posts wrong and in pretty much trying to take all the pictures I can and asking to decorate my house but I'm. It getting a reply I'm getting tossed in different directions, When I tell everyone I need help from top to bottom with everything from color of a lamp down to the nitty gritty I need to know I will go buy it and do it! So I've provided pics of everything I Have Please help me fix what I can and buy what will look good ! It will mean so much to see all your nings going to work !...See MoreHow do I fix this stucco?
Comments (5)it looks like there is some bulging out so putting a long level on your wall can help you know how much stucco to remove. I don't see any weep screed at the bottom of your wall but that should go on after plywood sheathing. Then you attach your paper and wire mesh to the sheathing making sure to overlap the flat part of your weep screed. You can stucco but if you are trying to match textures a pro would be best....See MoreSue Wulff
