Accent Wall Color?

I'm going to be adding some molding to make an accent wall (probably a grid pattern) in our bedroom - similar to this:

I was also considering making that wall a different color, but cannot figure out what color to go with. Our walls are Sherwin Williams Silvermist. Does anyone have any color suggestions for an accent wall that would work well with Silvermist? I considered white, but our bedding is white (still not out of contention). alternatively, should I just paint the molding silvermist? this is a picture of our bedroom currently. the wall behind the bed is the wall i'll be doing.

Lisa Caudill, sorry I didn't reply yesterday. Your comments were not harsh. You suggested a color and that is exactly what I was looking for. Green is a very good idea and actually the first I considered. But then thought it didn't really suit the background of the calligraphy piece and that it might not work well with the red touches in the room. Your suggestion of a gallery wall was a welcome one. The recessed alcove to the left of the wall with the vanity actually does have a gallery wall - but the works there are all very similar. The others are quite varied in style and framing treatment. So I can't see them working in a grouping. But your suggestion is worth considering. In short, you have absolutely no need to apologize. Thanks for your suggestions and for writing. I will post again when the chimney repairs are completed (that may be quite a while yet) and the wall repainted. I will not be redecorating the room.

Hi sorry no one has answered yet, did you go through with anything yet? I think it’s not easy giving advice on white without being there in person. However, there can be some clues like lighting conditions / direction of window facing, uou said you are using terracotta, so you can find something with an orange, red or yellow undertone in it and avoid anything with blue or green… unless you want it to stick out. I think you getting samples is a great idea. I found light colors arent easy because it can have indertones that you might or might not expect to show up & can look dofferent from room to room. Shoji white I think has green undertones, but depending on the light snd surroundings, it can look different. you can see how you like it and maybe play with some color cards on the fsn deck first and look at the darker version on each to see what undertones are at play, but thats just the start. Do update when your finished!

Adding in a muted teal or green color would definitely make this space pop without making the other walls look too yellow - love this idea!

I believe something like this would be much more appreciated on a staircase wall, dining room wall, or a wall with no window.

Here, art would look better over your headboard and add color to the room.

I agree with njmomma. It seems to be a lot of effort for little impact, as it's on a relatively small wall and is covered up by a large headboard. Would you consider using this treatment in another area of your home? It's quite pretty; just doesn't seem to be good "value for effort" in this application.

I think the panelling looks great. It creates a new play of light & tone across a wall. 🌈

Would you send a picture of the finished project? And wgat color did you use on the accent wall? i also have silvermist on my walls.
