Urgent request for help designing shower doors
Comments (10)lauraella, I like your sliding door, but we don't have room to do that on the outside walls, either - one side is too short, the other has a thermostat. Thank you for the suggestion, housevixen. I'm not sure that I like the looks of the bifold door, with all those hinges. And I think there might need to be even more hinges without a tub; since the panels will be longer, they will be heavier, too. It occurred to me that since the external door is about 24", and I have 5' along the shower, I could set it up so that hinge point is past where the external door would hit,and put a transparent "stop" on the panel to prevent the door from hitting it. Then I'd only have to worry if the swinging shower door went well past 90 degrees - maybe this could be restricted?...See MoreMagic corner cabinets - Right or left opening doors?
Comments (8)The Lemans has a built in stop block to adjust the swing- it can be placed next to a range. Here is a pic next to a Wolf at 26 1/8" deep, may manage up to MAYBE 26 3/8. Pic shows lemans open but still has a tad more travel available. The bigger problem is the opening with-showing 20 1/2 less filler minimum of 2.5 gives you an 18" door- On frameless that is a 16.5 opening and on framed overlay 15" , 16" with inset...You need a bit more. I try to stick with the Lemans 50 or 60- the 45 is better than the older small version though. The RAS half moon units work with smaller openings but 15 is still too small to make one of those worth while. So unless you can get clearance for the door opeing use the longer wall. As to magic corner in the uppers-I wouldn't on a bet....See MoreUrgent: what oven/microwave stack should I get? Must choose TODAY!
Comments (5)If double ovens is what you want, that’s what you should get. They were a must item in my kitchen, and almost six years since our reno, I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I had to make the choice, I’d forgo the single FD oven, and get the Monogram double convection ovens. I understand your concern about the microwave. Above a double stack would be too high. And, yes, the drawer below the double stack is quite useful. Post a floor plan of your kitchen. We might be able to find another place for the MW...off the counter. We did this: Btw, if you’re looking for a place to keep trays, baking pans, cookie sheets, cooling racks, and other flat items, the space above the double ovens is perfect....See MoreFridge: Left hinge or right hinge fridge in our Kitchen
Comments (11)"Now we have a dilemma to solve: given the wall on the left side we need >4i [inch] space on the wall side (based on the instruction) to be able to open the door more than 90 degree if the fridge hinge is on the left (wall side)." Install the refrigerator as shown in the drawing, "Flush with refrigerator chassis - full door rotation" which doesn't require any space between the refrigerator and the adjacent wall....See MoreJanelle
