The rose park nearby fertilizes with chemicals, and I usually see the most is 10 blossoms per bushy Austin. You also have Heather Austin, which David Austin mentioned about its stamens smell like cloves. Is that a pleasant smell? I like Christopher Marlowe's citrus smell, but its fleeting fragrance lasts only one day. I'm addicted to Mary Magdalene's myrrh and tea smell, it reminds me of the Catholic church's incense. Loved "The Castle" although I think the company that released it for the US, felt they needed to dub over bits of it so that Americans could understand it. Also from "down under", an off-beat love story: Eagle vs Shark and quite possibly the best comedy about Austrailan lawn bowling: Crackerjack (from 2002) And from France: "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis" a comedy about a postal worker who gets transferred to "the sticks" in Northern France.

For me, the absolute champion, never-to-be-surpassed series is Game of Thrones. Great acting, great writing, intriguing plots, and beautiful locations. True, it is very violent, so I - hating "blood 'n guts" - spent a fair amount of time peeking between my fingers with squinted eyes. That said, it is epic, a story of human foibles and weaknesses and occasional courage. If you can cope with limbs being lopped off, of everything that could go wrong being shown on screen, and if you can follow the convoluted plot and myriad characters - I recommend it. imo there's nothing else like it. The dragons! DH and I also loved Mad Men. We came to it toward the end of its run, so there was a lot of binge-watching to catch up. It would have been my favorite but for GOT. We've watched many of the above-mentioned shows, especially enjoying Foyle's War.

We go out to eat rarely, and only started doing so a bit in 2019. 2020 stopped that, but we did order carry out a few times. And delivery a couple times from the one place around that will deliver out here- glad it's Chinese :) But driving around local into our little town. 1 of the 2 bars is closed. The other seems to be closed too, but looks like it's being worked on while it's closed. The two taverns of food and drink are still open. The few local restaurants are still open. Except one- it was a new branch of an existing restaurant that was slated to be opened in June 2020. It's still sitting finished, shuttered and yet to be opened. A couple places that are more open during tourist season look like they might not try again this year. Another one that is usually closed was chugging out the smoke, so someone is there- it's a bbq place :) But still closed for the season :(. And one place that usually depends on the tourist season and some limited winter hours for the locals has expanded a bit and is doing fuller winter hours to accommodate more carry out orders.
