A dozen years ago i searched for the perfect bedside analog battery back-up alarm clocks. Big love as braun went china. Soft light, easy to read without glasses, a soft crescendo alarm , not annoying...perfect and satisfied...fast forward ten years. They did that itty-bitty malfunction as things do....soft night-light bulb died, etc.

Replacements available but 75$ each now, lol. Not really 75 buck nice.

Wake up to smart devices. Plugs, bulbs. timers. 4-5 things on the stove and in the oven...timers set without need to ever hand wash. Life changing...

So I have a DH stocking full of smart devices. 😂

He turns on two smart bulbs every morning with voice command. No stumbling in the dark.

A smart device holiday. Bargains.

Is it too late for daffs even if the soil is workable? hmmm...now if it was me, I'd probably plant them and plant them deep and then mulch them well to protect them from the soil freezing too soon. Some members might have other ideas about it though. I think so long as the soil drains pretty well, they should be fine. If you don't get them planted or forced, you could just keep them in a cool place and plant them after the spring thaw there. They would be confused come bloom time 2012, but should be back on schedule for the 2013 bloom season. Sue

Be sure to check into the brand name recommendations over on the Greenhouse forum here. As you know there is a wide price range available but many of the less expensive brands have notable common problems and those discussions on the forum can really help you narrow down which brands to avoid. I know Canada doesn't have Black Friday sales perse but some of the Canadian manufacturers besides BCGH use US distributors that you can order from using their BF sale prices and then pick up locally to avoid the shipping fees. Plus many of the distributors are currently offering free shipping on some models. Just some points to consider. Dave

I ordered several delta Cassidy items as well! Unfortunately almost all my bathroom Cassidy items are back ordered but I've got plenty of time since our slab was just poured today. I contacted them today to confirm which items were back ordered so that I'd know what to expect in the shipment and it's a good thing I did! They were holding the rest of my order until those few items showed up at the distribution center. They'll go ahead and send what's in stock if you contact them (they offered, I didn't have to ask). My order contains 32 items and they're not being delivered to the job site so breaking it up into smaller deliveries is definitely a good thing!

Oh, forgot that last year was the exceptional Dyson rechargeable stick vac. Not sure about this year sales. We have a whole house vac system that is close to silent wen running. The motor is deep in the back basement. Not great for rugs, etc. Excellent for dusty quickies and ceiling webs, (post and beam here)

Young pup #2 bites a simple broom sweep. 🙄. Cool with the whole house vac but hates the Dyson. Baby steps with that child.
