Help! Save our marriage....granite color
Comments (10)oh come on, are there really men out there who care? Just kidding. My husband could care less if we even have a counter top. We just got our granite today. we have been using the raw plywood that thankfully our cabinet maker put on for us. I don't know why he makes them like that, but he does. I ended up going with the cold springs granite, which is very much like delicatus on my perimeter cabs and I did the absolute black on my island. I love the contrast! it is beautiful. my kitchen is not finished yet, and please excuse the granite dust from today. we have to adjust the feet on the stove to raiseit up to the height of the granite, and I am not finished painting, but you can see how they look together. maybe you could compromise with two granites?...See MoreSave my marriage?
Comments (25)Oh my gosh, you just can't cover those glorous windows! They are absolutey drop dead gorgeous. I wouldn't do anything to cover them and would only add a valance if you need to add interest. Birdgardener had a great idea to plant tall hedges to block the view in but keep your windows uncovered. My DH is always grumbling about me getting curtains and we live in the country on 3 1/2 acres with nothing but wildlife close by so in my opinion drapes and curtains are not utilitarian just decorative. I can never find window coverings that I like!...See MoreWhere do you drain your dishes - save my marriage!
Comments (49)I let things air dry in various places: everyday hand wash items (coffee pot, cat food dishes) -- when the DW is not full, I let things air-dry on the upper rack -- when the DW is full, I let things air-dry on a towel placed on the cooktop grates delicate stuff (knives, barware, china, aerokat) -- small quantities are hand dried -- large quantities air-dry in the dish rack with drain board that normally stays under the sink Then again, I don't live with anyone who cares where things dry out so long as they get their food, nibbles and treats....See MoreHelp save my marriage-den color choices input needed!!!!
Comments (10)The room is 12 x 12, so not too big and one window. It tends to be dark. It has wood paneling and crown throughout. The smoke damage has been determined to warrant a refinish/cleaning, not a replace. The floors will be replaced due to smoke between crevices in wood. Ceiling is also being replace. Wood is not beautiful, but overall effect is nice for a small den with one wall built in bookshelves, a set of small double doors (no glass) and a back door out the other side of the room. I am sorry I don't have a better picture, but I am not in the house currently....See MorePhDesign Company
