Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't been able to log on for weeks. Somehow, I got here through the Test forum, but when I try another forum.....I am not logged on and can't.

I have tried using both Gardenweb and Houzz.

I did briefly when using too many ad-blocking and privacy plugins in my browser. I had to allow Gardenweb and Houzz to have access.

9+ years on F&P Intuitive (same basic design as yours...just more options) and not a whiff of anything nasty or moldy to be found. I do NOT run exclusively cold, which I have always found to be a bad idea. Also, I do occasionally use LFS (depends on the items being washed). However, I wash colds on cold, items recommended for warm on warm, whites and cleaning rags on hot, etc. I also run the recommended cleaning cycle 4 times per year (every season), with one of them (once per year) being exclusively hot water and lots of vinegar (i.e. no detergent). This not only cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes, but also removes every last speck of detergent reside too. The tub looks like new afterwards! The washer has been great and cleans very well, but every machine requires maintenance of some kind. If you never take care of it you will pay the price afterwards (if it were topic-appropriate, I'd tell the story of someone I know who never bothered to do any maintenance of any kind on their car...big mistake!).

Heres what I am doing I removed my deck , you need a rubber bungie strap ,2 eyebolts with locknuts and washers, now with the dek off of the mower remove the blade break spring, next ensure the blade belt control lever swings freely,now insert one end of the bungie strap into the hole on the blade control lever(where the pto spring goes) now stretching the bungie cord (yes the blade control lever will engage) find a path clear of any moving belts ,pullys ect to the outside of the deck . Now find a flat spot and drill a hole for one of the eyebolts and install the eyebolt,now remove the S hook from the bungie cord and push the bungie cord through the eyebolt(again ensure that you have a clear path nothing will touch the bungie strap when the blades are turning) now find a spot on the foot rest (clear under and on top ) install the other eyebolt. now put the s hook back on the free end of the bungie cord and install the blade brake spring. Now if you hook the bungie cord to the eyebolt on the footrest the blades should activate and when you unhook the bungie cord the blade brake will engage stopping the blades.

Marilyn_Sue, As Adellabella and Jasdip said, it's now a two step process. You put your e-mail address in, press enter, then your password. I just hope it doesn't go like Google. I have a work account at Gmail and they put cookies in to force you to have a single sign in, but I don't want to be signed in as work on my personal stuff. It's too much trouble to delete the cookie, every time, so I only check my work e-mail on my iPad. Which is very inconvenient. I sometimes have to work on Google docs on the computer, and then I have to deal with the whole thing. I don't know what people who share a computer do! Yahoo just offered to do a similar combined inbox thing, but it seems to be voluntary. So far. After you sign in, it may prompt you to add a cell phone number. In little blue letters, there's a "skip for now", which you can keep on skipping. At which point, it might dump you on the Yahoo home page. Mail is in the upper right hand corner, an envelope icon with a red bug saying how many new e-mails you have. Jasdip, As to the length of time to draw an e-mail, it's probably a bandwidth issue, especially if you're getting HTML videos with a lot of visual information, rather than text. It can multiply if your computer is older and your display is slower. If it's taking a lot longer to draw than a web page you haven't seen before, it might also be advertising. Remember those awful advertising experiments that they did on us at GW? Sometimes even if you have an ad blocker, you have to wait while the ad doesn't load!

I've been experiencing this issue (the need to refresh, don't recall seeing a question mark) on my iPad, not on my iPhone (both access the site via Safari). Nor have I been having this problem on my laptop (an HP running Google Chrome). i thought it was just my iPad having trouble with the site, but an iPad at a local Apple Store exhibited the same issue the other day.

Yes! I get the same message when I try to log in using my tablet or laptop. I can only get here with my cell phone now.

The same thing happened to me last week after I'd done a cleanup and defrag on my computer. Then all of a sudden, it just started working. Try logging on to different forums and see if you can log in. Like, I was able to log in at one discussion forum but not the other, then suddenly, I was logged into the others as well. I'm afraid to clean my cookies again...YIKES!

I cleared my cache & cookies last week, and like to have never gotten logged back in! Total pain!

I ongoingly clear my cookies (I use Firefox 82.0.3) and haven't experienced this.

What i have experienced, is some of my OP posts disappearing (getting deleted without explanation?), and also very long delays when posting an OP.

Yes, this is from a brand new Firefox installation (83.0):

The only thing I did, after opening it up and getting "Welcome to Firefox" page was go to https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions and click sign in.

No adblocker, no extensions of any kind.

A week or so ago I logged out to do a test and had problems getting logged back in on the gardenweb side. I was able to log into the houzz side. The only way I got back in was by copy cookies from another machine.

Logging into a Windows machine on which I had been logged into gardenweb, I found I was no longer logged it and couldn't get back in. I don't use Windows much so gave up. A few days later I started Windows up to discover I was suddenly logged in without doing anything.

I think it's because the techs are trying to juggle two domains, two sets of content pages, two sets of style sheets, one (or two?) user databases, and... whatever else.

Personally, for now I wouldn't log out once you get logged in. (clearing cookies also logs you out)
