anyone has 8' square pendant light for their island?
Comments (7)I have been following your quest for a light. As I think my island will be about the same size. I'm not there yet in thinking, but, I am looking at 6" pendants, I thought 8 might be too big! KD is going to mock them up for me in some drawings, but we haven't gotten there yet! I am looking at Hubberton Forge lights, they are made in Vermont, we have a dining fixture from them...love it! They have several pendant styles to choose from.....with lots of different finishes and glass styles....take a look, see if anything is appealing! If/when I get info from my KD on sizing I'll share with you!...See MorePendant Lights Above Island with Short Ceiling
Comments (65)@Porter, I didn't get the LED Edison bulbs yet-the store where we got the pendants gave me 3 halogen bulbs to see if it was better for me as I didn't like the yellow light at all. I am still going to order them when I do a Prime order to see the difference. That fixture is in a nook--off centered from the pendants--it comes with a chain ;however I am undecided if a table is going to go there or it will stay open, so had it semi-flush mounted. Does it look odd or out of place? @Beth, Right now they are 34" so when the quartz is installed, it should be about 32 33" from counter to bottom of lights. They seem high, but any lower they are going to be in our eyes....See MoreWhere should the pendant lights be on an angled peninsula island
Comments (6)The rule of thumb is to place pendant lights @30-36" apart center to center. depending on the scale and proportion of the island. It would also depend on the size of the pendants. It is not clear where and if there is seating but at first glance, I would not put one over the sink. Is it too late to add any recessed lights?...See MoreGlass Pendant Lighting Help
