Two Sofas or Sectional?
Comments (4)just my $.02, I have always liked sectionals in an informal room, I don't like clutter on a corner table between 2 sofas and a small lamp. I use a big coffee table for stuff. feet propped up, drink coasters, few mags, a plant, etc. You can get gorgeous floor lamps classic, modern that can go next to or behind the piece. i have a few pillows in the corner and a throw. and no, nobody who visits sits in the corner. I sit in it when I nap or lay out to watch tv. and btw, LOVE your fireplace, and you have a huge and high space to make it work. Sectionals seem to take up more room, but I swear, they make the room BIGGER in my opinion. :)...See MoreDoes this faux-sectional fit?
Comments (33)I think if I re-work the room this way it might fit better. I'm not sure abut a chaise-sectional because I worry it won't be comfortable to sit on the chaise side and look at the fire: This room is used the most in the fall & winter. I was thinking sectional sofa because it would give space for laying down and sitting. When we have people over, it's nice to have a conversation grouping but when it's just us and the dog a sectional seems like it allows for more lazy lounging. I like the look of this, it just needs to swap which side gets the long versus short piece: So it would be a corner + 1 arm chair piece + 1 loveseat piece. I need to find out if these pieces can fit into the dimensions on the plan (sectional on the floor plan is 6' by 7'8", or 72" x 92"). I like the corner piece on this style because it has a teeny bit of leg room. I don't think it's enough leg room that someone would sit there and hang their legs down, but if you are sitting on either side of the corner you aren't fighting for foot space as much. I think/hope it works out that way, at least....See MoreArt with sectional sofa and transom windows
Comments (13)just a few ideas that I'd suggest. a plant in the corner where that little bench is. I posted two diff types, either would work. I gave you a side table w/a lamp on the other end. I like the idea of a pouf in this camel color to warm things up a bit, or do a stool or two placed in front of fireplace. I also like these shelves between the two windows. ( I don't know what furry dog is going to do with these,,,maybe have the toddler stand on his back?? lol. hang them well out of reach and they'll be fine. I'd put a few small plants on them. This will eat up that middle space) You could also take these teak decking tiles and attach a plant/pot onto it, and hang two of these between the transom windows. if you want a bench, do something like this in the wood. all of those neutral gray tones make everything seem very cool. add some wood and some texture to warm it up a bit. over the back of sofa do a cool piece of art don't hang them too high. (your tv is hung too high btw. ) and a rug for the sofa area A jute one would work too for the dining area, you could also do this jute rug like shown. for the wall, I'd do another piece of sizable art to hang on that one wall. This one has a larger wall, but look at the black and white picture. basically the same size of yours. you want something this big. Or, do a shallow buffet or console w/a mirror over it and some greenery, like shown here....See MoreHELP ARRANGING SECTIONAL, WALL COLOR, FIREPLACE
Comments (12)The sectional is a good fit for the room. (A lot buy huge bulky pieces). Treat the gray as a neutral. Paint the walls white: look at BM Cloud 9; White Dove; Simply White; Chantilly Lace; Dune White. Choice will depend on light in the room. Move the large art from over the FP to over the longest side of the sectional. About 5" above the back. Use colors from the art for accents. Remove the black/white pillows. If the chaise is returnable change it for a chair in similar to the sectional....See More- 3 years ago
