Stone house TV room needs serious revamping
Comments (15)What is in that other room with door? Not sure it would be good to have obstacle (ie tv credenza) blocking the path. Also your view into the room through archway will be this big thing sitting there. I think I like Cara s #`1 option .... except put a second chair where tv is and move tv to the long wall... perhaps installing a built in of some sort on that wall. Would be cozy, sure, but if this is a room where you are together a lot watching tv/movies then just let it be a dedicated viewing space. Re mounting heavy items to the wall - it can be done on old plaster walls but youd have to be able to drill into the studs to attach some sort of mounting bracket. Drilling generally doesnt dislodge plaster - unlike pounding nails - unless it is super loose or fragile. Looks like a nice old house from what I can see!...See Moreliving room to watch TV and looking nice when not watching tv
Comments (17)Can you take a picture from the sliders to the wall across and plant wall towards dining? I think you should nail down the layout first. I agree with above, the first and last are too bulky and don't go in a livingroom. You have a lot of brown already, but the middle could work with a light rug, and lighter side chair/tables. The pros here can really help with layout so you don't cover windows and doors with furniture. From what I see now, the tv can go on wall with the plant with sofa facing... Comments (26)Not every wall needs to be decorated. You could easily put a large tall plant in the corner next to the window. Home Depot usually has good ones for not too much. Any of these would work well. Every room needs a plant. They're great space fillers without looking contrived. They really cozy up a room....See MoreHelp me with living room layout and TV placement
Comments (20)I would keep this basic arrangement with a few changes: 1. Whatever is in front of the fireplace needs to go. 2. Move the tree someplace other than this room. 3. Put the two red chairs together in front of the railing and send the recliner to another room. 4. Get matching floor to ceiling curtains for all windows in this space. 5. Get a rug large enough to hold all front feet of the sofa and chairs. 6. Replace the current console with a longer one that spans nearly the width from fireplace to wall and is no higher than the one you have now....See Morelatifolia
