I would paint the whole thing your chosen color then when that's dry, put removable wall paper. That way you can see what it looks like without actually putting wallpaper. I've removed different types of wallpaper myself, and it ain't fun!!!! I don't like wallpaper myself, but that's a personal choice.

This has a cool cabin look. If it is a cabin the vintage vogue is fitting. You guys could also paint the fireplace white or gray. Another idea is to go with a white paint on the paneling and then do a clear gloss on the fireplace as is. It would be very modern and crisp with the blonde wood floors. Some bold black accents and plants would also look great.

IMO dark green would be my last choice of paint color in that space.Sorry I need to know what you want this space to be like when done. Those cabinets are screaming dated and way too dark. IMO if you want some green in the space do thecabinets a nice pale green and the walls a warm white BTW hanging wall paper does not work well on painted panelling and there is IMO no place for wallpaper in this space. Are you changing flooring ? I think we need a lot more info BTW all the lighting needs to be changed to LEDs 4000K before choosing anything .IMO you needed to have adesigner from the beginning and is that a TV on the staircase wall? IMO the whole point of idea books is to give a glimpse into your style and not one of yours is anything like what you are planning. BTW painted stone is never a good look and that FP is the best part of the space .

Hi Patricia, as mentioned in the original post the flooring is going to blonde wood, the fireplace is staying as is ( unless maybe I whitewash). I do have one ideabook for this house- but the pics posted by someone with the green walls is sort of my vision. I have multiple ideabooks for multiple houses, this one is my 6th to decorate ( all different styles) so yes many of my ideabooks were a different style. I will post a couple more of what I'm thinking. The kitchen is being painted white with butcherblock countertops, the lighting is all being replaced with more modern black/ brass fixtures, and there is also plenty of natural light from the 5 windows. I was only considering wallpaper on the white wall that was created as part of the reno- it's the only flat walk in a room that will be all painted paneling.

Thank you Elaine yes it would definitely be removable wallpaper, we have had enough of the other stuff removing it from the bathrooms in this house!

All wallpaper is removeable....IF YOU PRIME THE WALLS. (Sorry to “shout” but so many people don’t understand how important that stage is!). Prime the walls. Look at pre pasted wallpaper. Honestly, I have read people’s opinions of adhesive backed wallpaper here and it isn’t pretty. Meaning....when you try to pull it off, it leaves an adhesive residue that is difficult, if not impossible, to remove. So...prime that drywall. Then you are ready for anything.

I love wallpaper, but, I think there is enough going on in your room, that you really do not need any wallpaper. I would just paint the wall, and I certainly would not be painting that fireplace. Your house has a rustic vibe to it, so best to work with it.

Kitchen is being rearranged- no peninsula just flat L shaped against the wall, with a big oak dining table in the "island" position. Cabinets will be white, butcherblock countertops, mottled green zellige type backsplash. All white appliances. Sounds like maybe no wallpaper- I guess I'll see if it needs it when we get closer to the finish line.

This looks more like old school contact paper that you put inside drawers to protect them from dirt, not real wall paper.
