Need help finding a coffee table!

Hello! So I had been looking for a coffee table for a few days and I am so undecisive! It’s our first home and designing our home has been so difficult especially since most styles we like are mainly available online and I just cannot make a decision not being able to physically see the coffee table. We live in a state where furniture stores options are also limited.

Here are some photos of our living room. I had ordered a coffee table from wayfair but it had some damage on it and the quality was not it so we are getting rid of it. The box in the middle is the coffee table! Box measures about 52in by 26in.

My husband loves wood but is not into mid century style while I am more of a modern lady :)

Help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Oh and please excuse the mess! I almost ordered one of these coffee tables but I wasn’t sure if it will be too big and match the style of our overall living room. These measure 54in x 34in

Why not match the side table. Glass and gold instead. The table you picked is nice but very chunky and farmhouse/ cottagey. We need to stay in the same lane that you started in. Your house is BEAUTIFUL! It’s definitely not cottagey tho.

Try looking at Lorts Furniture. You can choose from a variety of stains. I ordrered this table from Lorts (still waiting on delivery) Tey also have this one - one side of the table top lifts for storage- Try looking at the site below for more Lorts stuff - I found that it wasn't easy to find a sqaure or round coffee table. Would you pull the rug toward the t v wall so all legs of blue sofa are on it and pull it over so left leg of sectional is on it. Is that art in the niche high up on the wall? If so, find an eye level spot for it. A coffee table with stools would work for you.

You could size it so all the legs of the sectional are on the rug. As is the piece looks like it is floating. The rug would ground it. Is it possible to mount the t v on the wall?

@HU-187528210 thank you! yes we were thinking of matching with the side table but we weren’t too sure how safe that will be when we have children some day and babies banging on the surface, etc. Wonder if anyone has had issues relating to children and glass tables? I may be overthinking in that aspect! I will definitely consider more about glass coffee table,

It’s funny you say that. I actually have a glass one in my living room ( much less used than the family room) the kids definitely bang it but thank god no emergencies happened. I don’t know if it would make me not get glass because the sharp edges of anything can be dangerous you know what I mean?

@HU-187528210 Hopefully the quality glass is strong enough to withstand accidents. My husband did say he broke a window when he was a kid because he kicked a soccer ball in the house. Of course soccer balls shouldn’t be kicked around in the house haha

I agree with other posters about using a glass coffee table. Since your other furniture is rather solid and heavy a glass coffee table would be a good foil and would visually "lighten" your decor. Good luck!

I agree that a less chunky looking table would be good. My first impression of your room is that it’s full of big and heavy furniture already.

I’ve seen these vintage La Barge coffee tables on FB Marketplace, Craigslist, etc over the years ... I think one would look so lovely in your room.

Thank you all so much for the feedback. Yes I was thinking long hard and glass ones are still in my options. @Jinx I do like that glass table. It looks very sturdy and different!

My husband really doesn’t want glass as a centerpiece furniture. He’s still a forever wood kind of guy even though I told him we may want to go for glass haha. But since he doesn’t want glass, I was even thinking of maybe going white or black and I do think a round table will soften the look and give more leeway with space since our sofa and oversized chair are on the bulky sideS

Here some styles I have in mind! What do you all think of the bunching tables?
