Need help with finding Pottery Barn style coffee table

I am new to this forum so I apologize if this has been answered before.

I am in search for pottery barn style coffee table. I love, love pottery barn but would like to see if I can get better quality for the same amount of money.

I am getting very overwhelmed and frustrated with trying to find a table as there are way too many furniture stores so I am hoping for some suggestions to save me some time.

I already have a black entertainment center from PB so I am hoping to find a table with that "cottage" look in a similar finish.

I looked already at Broyhill, Thomasville (too expensive) and Stanly.

I would also like to find furniture that is similar to Pottery Barn without the price---some furniture stores are catching on and making similar items---you just have to look and look I guess---I hope more manufacturers will start to make this type of furniture and actually put it in stores you can go to and buy it from instead of having to pay outrageous prices for shipping---

I am not sure which pottery Barn style you mean, but try these manufacturers:

You will have to sort through the occasional tables to see if they have the styles you like, but all are good quality tables. Then ask for a local retailer if you see something you like. It might save you a lot of running around.

Try looking at Lorts Furniture. You can choose from a variety of stains. I ordrered this table from Lorts (still waiting on delivery) Tey also have this one - one side of the table top lifts for storage- Try looking at the site below for more Lorts stuff - I found that it wasn't easy to find a sqaure or round coffee table. Dee, that is a very good point to consider about the shedding. I have a Karastan multi kirmin and am looking to completely change the color scheme so I can't use it. This rug has never shed--I guess that bumps up my expectation of quality. I use Home Depot polypropelene Oriental knockoffs under my dining table in the kitchen, and toss them every 5 years as they get very heavy traffic from kids/dog/ dirty feet coming in from outdoors. They look and feel just ok, but never shed at all and clean up pretty well so I don't have to freak out when someone spills BBQ sauce on it. The LR rug will have to last over the long hall. Maybe I will look at the Karastans at Macys locally to get some ideas on true color. I am hesitant to buy any rug online unless I see the exact one in the flesh first. Any one else out there care to comment on the quality of their Pottery Barn rug? Do they all shed like this, because they are hand tufted? They are half the price of Karastan. Requires some contemplation here.....

This furniture is wood chips compressed with glue, with a slap of cheap stain on top. It's awful given how much the pieces cost and how long you have to wait to have them delivered. The upholstered pieces don't hold up to real life either. I've also experienced dye fading in expensive PB towels and bathmats with the very first wash, while using a mild detergent like Cheer to protect the colors. The spots never stop appearing. Pottery Barn would not even consider taking them back. So I buy all household textiles elsewhere. Walmart has better quality towels. We shall see how these retailers fair in the next year or so, as the economy is changing rapidly, and how responsive they are to customers when there are fewer of them.

Thank you Heather! I love your room from the picture. Yes, most of my case goods that weren't my grandmothers were Craigslist finds. They were often someone's parents' or grandparents' stuff and I got good deals on them. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck in finding upholstered items so far on Craigslist so I'm open to buying new since a quality reupholstering job is often fairly close in price to a mid-quality new. Love your idea about the Harris tweed fabric. Wish I had picked up a few yards when I was in Harris a few years ago. If only I had known at the time that my new husband didn't like the decor and furnishings I brought to the marriage. Oh well. I guess that may just mean, I need another trip to Scotland with a stop in Harris. ;)

I am interested as well. My wife loves the Raleigh Collection. But I am hestiant to pay 700 for a console and coffee table from Pottery Barn without looking around. I don't really see any of the better furniture brands making tables in this style though.

I'm really just lurking, but thought I just saw an add for this and it reminded me of the pottery barn stuff.

I really don't know how it compares price wise......but I'll bet you could find a guy locally to build it.

I have some of the Thomasville Urban Retreat pieces in my living room and love them. I originally wanted Pottery Barn but could not justify paying their prices for the quality that they have.

Club furniture.com has pottery barn style furniture with a better quality and more selections with a more reasonable cost, especially when it comes to shipping. You will be happy!
