LIPSTICK is the consumer product that has experienced a big loss this year. GEORGYSMOM took it one step further, which I was going to state, is that Mascara sales have soared. :-)

I have no idea what the periodic table is, but that's today's question.

The only letter that doesn’t appear on the periodic table is what?

The periodic table shows the symbols of the various basic elements as well as their atomic weight.

I'll guess 'What is the letter Q'

Here's another question: What is missing from this sentence? "This will grow back there was tissue left behind during the removal process." I think the word "if" is missing, but I'm not sure. If so, my guess is wisdom teeth.

If one takes the trouble to find all sorts of esoteric trivia questions to ask, then why is it such a stretch to also have the correct answers at hand? I can think of two reasons: First, to fact check everything would be a huge time burden, and we are lucky to have the time Jasdip gives us. And, of course, we have you to fact check. And perhaps a more collegial correction might be more in keeping with the fun nature of this game. It would be different if this was a medical or financial forum, where harm would be done if an accidentally mangled fact made it across the finish line once or twice a year. But it isn't. There is no situation I can imagine where your claim (you have after all not cited your authorities) would make a difference one way or another. Second, the best answers are the fun imaginative ones anyway IMHO.

I wouldn't stake my life on it, but I think Lonejack and terilyn are both right, neither Q nor J are on the periodic table.

I was pretty sure about lipstick although I've been pretty sure many times and have been wrong. One day this summer I met my golfing ladies for lunch after a Doctor's appt. One of the ladies commented on my eyes. I probably spend a little longer on them these days since they're the only thing visible with a mask on. She said she heard there was a big downtick in lipstick these days. I still put it on before the mask....I know not why.....but it made sense to me. She also said at the same time sales for eye make-up has increased. That made sense too. Hence my answer.

Today I'll go with the majority...J because it seems to me there would be a Q and terilyn can have the chili dog all by herself!

When I learned it, there was neither J nor Q, but they may have added elements since then that use those letters.
