Help with my Dutch Colonial Revival
Comments (5)Ok- Here are some color combos I came up with. I am trying to avoid white...too plain for me. I would like some honesty here please. If you think any look awful, please tell me. I will not be offended. Comments (31)Hmmm I think I need to learn how to do that (change colors in a pic). Could we see something darker/browner to better relate to brick and roof? By griege I was thinking something midway between gray & brown. The above looks very blue and reads almost as a white, at least on my monitor.... If you have a spare shingle OP just pull something out of that, or if you are reroofing then look at that in relation to your red brick. I too have a steep, very visible roof and Im telling ya, that really does play a major role in how your house looks. Comments (11)Here are some examples of white villas. Make sure that Dover White is not too gray. Your brown has lots of black/gray and maybe consider a warmer brown. Here is what the Sherwin Williams Color Snap shows as the colors of this villa. Hope this helps & the Polished Mahogany will work for your home. This is the current color. Probably more period-appropriate than what I've drawn up.And I don't hate it. It needs to be painted because of chipping and we have to repair some wood rot, I just can't bring myself to paint it another shade of brown.
