Allow me to better clarify #5. The cabs are nice, and in good condition. Not going all new. They have 20 years of fading around knobs & some of the inlay. Will be more of a "refresh" and not complete restain. They are maple with a honey tone stain. I would like to downplay the gold tone of the honey, but will accept as is, if that means would have to be a complete strip & redo to change the tone. Definitely not painting these cabinets. Just refreshing and removing the ornaments, plate railing/trim from hood.

The flooring will be replaced all the way into the DW 'pad', pantry and under fridge - of course.

Meant to clarify the flooring, too. Currently ceramic tile, so once that is out the height shouldn't be an issue. Planning to put the same existing flooring that is in the adjoining open concept fam room.

I've already had the original stainer come in and give me estimates to paint, complete re-stain or just refresh.

Those tile appear to go under the cabinets. How will deal with that? Can the bar be lowered without destroying the cabinet? Tops would be before backsplash. Removed for the new tops and installed after new tops were in place.

Backsplash choice is always last. Always. You can’t choose a backsplash until everything else is done or you will make a mistake.

All of the pieces have been chosen. Yes, bar can be lowered on its own. It's atop a drywall that butts up to the cabinet. Pretty sure cabs were in first. As evidenced by cuts around the fridge cabinet. Tile will be cut & removed at the cabs, will be replaced under DW, fridge and in pantry. Which order would you do things in?

5 first, 234 as a group, 1 last (if at all). You may end up having to call the original stain person back for touch ups if there's damage when the other work is done.

@apple_pie_order that is why I was thinking of doing the floor first and cabinets last. Why would that not be the best idea?
