Exterior Paint Color for house with direct western sun exposure?

We have a light gray stucco colonial home in sunny Florida that gets tons of direct HOT sunlight from the west in the afternoons and evenings. It's time to repaint and we are stuck on the color scheme. We both dislike the current gray color and anything in the cream/beige/tan/brown family. My husband would like a green/teal/blueish color but everything we've tried looks so washed out and faded in the afternoon sun. The darker colors that work well in the afternoon sun look took dark in the shade in the back of our home (in my opinion). I also worry darker colors would fade with all that direct western exposure (with no large trees nearby). What is the general rule for west facing homes? Should we stick with white or a lighter color or is a deeper saturation better so it doesn't look washed out?
