I don't know if this will help but....we have a fish pond/dog pond..no fish the frogs moved in. i noticed the tadpoles were stuck. I put a log across the top. as they got older they hung on the log. Later the frogs used the logs to go back and forth to the water. AS long as the water doesn't freeze to thick. you can wiggle the log to keep an air opening. With a pool you may have to use a large branch. Good luck, but remember we can unfortunately only cheat nature so much.

Most ABG pumps are not self-priming. If the water discharge is at the side of the pump rather than the center it is a flooded suction style pump and will almost always need to be primed. If the discharge is in the center is may work. It may, however, require a swing-check valve in front of the pump to maintain fill in the hair and lint trap. HI WE USED TO HAVE ONE OF THESE AND I have to say my son really enjoyed it. FIRST OF ALL IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE IT ON LEVEL GROUND AND YES IF YOU PUT IT ON CEMENT OR CONCRETE YOU WILL NEED SOMETHING UNDER IT TO PROTECT IT BUT ALSO TO STOP TOES GETTING STUBBED.( oops! sorry about the capital letters) you could use an old piece of carpet or some of that outdoor carpet that looks like grass. I think cardboard will get awfully soggy and mushy. Spread out the pool and inflate the ring then start to fill it when it has an inch or so in it someone needs to get in and smooth out the wrinkles and get the bottom as smooth as possible. If you don't the wrinkles will get on your nerves as they will trap dirt and the bottom won't feel as nice.If anyone sits or stands on the top ring then the side will collapse and you will have gallons of water running out of it ( trust me it happened to us) So make sure the kids use the steps and NEVER sit on the side.You will have to sanitize it and test the water like any other pool.Really chlorine is the simplest .Hope this helps, GOOD LUCK.

Put simply, while seemingly a bit pricey up front, you will KNOW where your levels are of these important factors. Step 2: Get the pump on a timer. Step 3: Test the fill water. Today. Take it to a pool store for testing. If they use 6 way strips for tests, find a different store. Step 4: Plug the numbers into www.poolcalculator.com, a great tool! It will tell you what to add. Alk is always 1st. Use baking soda. Wal-Mart 12 lb bag $7 pH Either Muriatic Acid or Bi-Sulfate to lower or Borax, Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda aka Dense Ash/pH Increaser Clorox Bleach for the initial. 5 gals of 10/12% liquid chlorine is way more than you will need unless the water is untreated and has known clarity issues.
