Finally after 4 years of trying, we are getting our pond cleaned up. And man, are they using big vehicles to accomplish it! The tire alone is almost as big as I am.

Annie, just curious, are they clearing out muck and debris from your pond? Or something else?

maire & OP, No just what's silted and slumped in over the years...clean up the edges to make them neat, get rid of holes around the edges and such and make the inlet and the outlet deeper again. Originally it was a swamp and if left to its own, it would return to swamp, so we have to do maintenance on it every few decades. Yes it has springs in it but it's also fed by neighboring ponds and the waterway eventually becomes a river downstream.

Thanks for explaining. I know ponds can require some TLC over time and was just curious about yours, as it looks so pretty in your photos.
